Ok...here is a gross question I've not seen addressed on here yet.
So I'm not sick yet every morning I wake up with my throat full of snot. It takes an hour of coughing to clear it.
Try Guaifenesin (Mucinex) before you go to bed.

Re: Any way to make a heavy climate-control hose less awkward?

Specifically, the hose I am wrestling with is the ResMed ClimateLineAir Heated Tube; but if you've had to tame a similarly heavy, stiff hose, your thoughts would still be appreciated. I've used a hose holder to good effect. There are many options. My tower model (base slipped under the mattress) wo...

Re: 3 months new user, questions

The unpleasant blasting is clearly a response to flow limitations. The flow limitations happen when your pressure drops. Your pressure drops because it can - the minimum is too low for your needs. And you really don't need a ramp of 4.0 I'd try to raise my minimum pressure. Your aim should be to ge...

Re: getting sores on my nose issue

I didn't always get this but lately I have been getting these weird sores on my nose and wondered if the latex or rubber used in the mask causes this. The nasal component doesn't really touch that part of my nose but I suppose when I bury the side of my head in a pillow it could rise up and touch t...

Re: Lesson learned: if you go to the hospital, bring your own . . . machine

Fortunately, NOT my experiences (twice). Had different, older machines than my AS10, but both worked fine, though you did have to manually turn on the humidifier each time you turned them on, as I quickly learned myself, as the Res. techs DIDN'T seem to know that. They DID lose my hose and mask whic...

Re: Airsense 10, ruptured eardrum due to water chamber

I had that same issue with the pressure spike, but it didn't affect anything but my sanity, until I realized WHAT caused it, the water chamber being just a tiny bit short of fullly inserted. Did this mis-alignment cause an out-of-control pressure increase or an out-of-control volume increase? Both.

Re: Airsense 10, ruptured eardrum due to water chamber

I’m three weeks into using my Airsense 10 and I have auto start selected. When I started breathing I was met with a hurricane wind that I struggled to understand and deal with it. I fought against the pressure assuming breathing would get it to adjust and the display said it was only on 4. Turning ...

Re: Deionized water vs distilled water

Hate to bring up an old thread but now that distilled water is once again difficult to find, I was hoping if anyone has any confirmation on how deionized water works in CPAP machines. I have a Pur filter on my kitchen sick faucet. I use it for cooking, drinking, AND in my CPAP humidifier. Works gre...

Re: After six months I still hate everything about my CPAP and notice no difference in how I feel during the day

So clarification. A little sensor on my chest and finger that I removed during an at home sleep test had work fully convinced I needed a CPAP machine. Months later my vitals are identical to the day I started. I get it, some people truly need this equipment and it's a life saver. My grandpa snored ...

Is it normal for AHI to be very low (1 or 2) when using CPAP?
That IS the goal, not all reach it.

Night - THC most nights as it relaxes me,
You may think it relaxes you, but THC is a psychoactive drug that stimulates your brain, it does NOT relax it.

Try skipping that, and see if it helps.

Re: New driver needs help

The only adjustment I made was to disable ramp per her recommendation. Did she say WHY you should disable that? It's helpful for new users, as it builds up pressure slowly at first (adjustable from 2 to 4 or 5 minutes, as I recall), and it's often more comfortable until you get used to using the ma...

Re: Insurance changed my CPAP equipment (presumably without notifying my doctor)

When I went to the doctor, I specifically asked for a ResMed Airsense 10 because I got the impression the 11 wasn’t that big of an upgrade, and also I wanted the swivel on the back of the machine to make sleeping a bit more flexible. I have a 10, and I NEVER use that swivel at all. The one on the m...

Re: Do you replace your CPAP mask every three months?

Today I received a marketing email from CPAP.com with this very caption. How unbelievable. I suppose this is the current trend these day. Just look at the AirSense 11 and it's really tiny filter that has a very poor efficiency rating, even their ultra fine filter is small and has a poor efficiency ...
