Re: Choosing a Battery

Your best bang-for-the-buck is definitely a scooter battery, but then you will also need a battery tender and a box. I bought a power-station at Canadian Tire. They currently have a one on sale for $210. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/motomaster-eliminator-powerbox-2000-0112028p.html#srp 33 AH ...

Re: Choosing a Battery

Looks like I almost got ripped off buying a lithium battery, not understanding the Ah (or mAh) is meaningless without specifying how many volts (http://cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t178212/Third-Party-DC-to-DC-Adapter-for-ResMed-AirSense-10.html). I almost bought this Talentcell battery (https://www.amazo...

Re: Third Party DC to DC Adapter for ResMed AirSense 10?

As dog slobber clearly said, that 22,400mah (really 22.4ah) is at 3.7 volts, you have to multiply the two together to find a common measurement, watthours, or wh. Resmed specs 15ah at 12.6 volts. Or 189wh. Your expensive battery gives 82.88wh. A cheap mobility scooter battery (35ah@12.6v) would giv...

Re: Third Party DC to DC Adapter for ResMed AirSense 10?

I'm not sure that battery will do the job. Its rating of 22400 Mah is at 3.7 volts. At 12 volts its capacity is 6.9 Amp hours. If your CPAP is drawing 1 Amp, you're going to go from completely full to completely empty, in less than 7 hours. Wait, I understand what you're saying now. Talentcell repl...

Re: Third Party DC to DC Adapter for ResMed AirSense 10?

Found something even cheaper. Since the Talentcell battery has 24V out, I can just get this Talentcell DC cord. No need to convert from 24V down to 12V and buy the cigarette adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RFH6JQJ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A24OIV2F0TL1K3&psc=1 Total after shipping a...

Re: Third Party DC to DC Adapter for ResMed AirSense 10?

For the life of me, I can't find any Canadian third party DC to DC adapters. It was already hard enough finding the third party. Google showed no results, I followed a link to amazon.com which was for the genuine (expensive) adapter, and thankfully amazon.com listed a third party (brand is "KFD") as...

Third Party DC to DC Adapter for ResMed AirSense 10?

So I FINALLY found a battery under $100 (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B078T7M9HZ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A24OIV2F0TL1K3&psc=1) that will power my husband's ResMed AirSense 10!!! The issue now is finding an inexpensive DC to DC adapter, as our insurance refuses to cover one (just like they won...

Re: How to run a ResMed AirMini on a USB power bank

For those interested in this topic, this was my setup: ResMed Airmini; P10 Mask; Omnicharge Omni 20 (2018); direct 24v power cable The Omni 20 has about 20,000 mAH compared to the Omnicharge 25,000mAH (approximate values) discussed above. Do you think something like this would work if I had a DC to...

Re: How to run a ResMed AirMini on a USB power bank

I was also affected by Hurricane Dorian, but in Nova Scotia, where (because of our poor infrastructure) left hundreds of thousands of customers without power in our province (and we only have less than a million people living here). Pretty much the entire province was dark (and a lot still have no p...

Re: Help Finding Nasal Pillows for My Young Daughter

I don't keep any gluten in the house, and replaced important items several years ago. We rarely eat out (a couple of times a year?). Cross contamination is definitely something we take seriously. Unfortunately with the blood tests, they are inaccurate. Even before my husband was diagnosed, his blood...

Re: Help Finding Nasal Pillows for My Young Daughter

So, she has undergone an examination by a pediatric ENT? A thorough examination will include endoscopy of the entire nasal passage and a look at the vocal cords. The size of the tonsils and adenoids will be compared to the open airway. A) I live in Canada, and it took my daughter six months just to...

I just heard back from my insurance provider. Looks like they only cover 2 masks per year with a maximum of $350 as is "reasonable and customary." I will PM you. Thanks!

Re: Help Finding Nasal Pillows for My Young Daughter

The P10 fits akwardly on her face in the front due to the design being for a larger face. She already has a tiny head for her age (I did too, and same with my mom). When she was a toddler, I was still putting baby hats on her. And when she was a baby, many baby hats were way too big. The pillows the...
