Re: More relaxed, lower AHI but feel more tired
I don't know what's going on, but I have two suggestions. One is to post a typical chart for a relaxed, low-AHI, tired-the-next day night and a typical chart for a non-relaxed, higher-AHI, less-tired-the-next-day chart. The other is to keep notes for a few weeks about how you feel during the day and...

Re: Please help me on my situation
To function well during the day, most people need at least 7 hours of actual sleep (which will be more than 7 hours in bed). As you address other problems, I hope you can work on your schedule to provide yourself with the sleep you need.

Re: Please help me on my situation
Did you spend only 4 hours 22 minutes in bed, or did you sleep part of the night without using your machine?

Re: Leakage and Pressure Level adjustment
Just to clarify: a CA is flagged whenever you have a pause in your breathing of 10 seconds or more that is not associated with obstruction. That is, 10 seconds is the magic number. Your CAs look as though they come after you exhale, so I don't think you're holding your breath. They do come after dee...

Re: Leaks and MyAir reporting
If you're having a lot of very large leaks, that AHI number may not mean much, because the machine can't always detect events during large leaks. It'd be great if you could download Oscar (see below) and post a chart so we can see what's going on.

Re: UARS and CA events... time for an ASV?
Thanks for the additional snippet. I see what might be arousal breathing at 8:07:30. It's pretty hard to tell whether there are other bits of arousal breathing during this segment, or just perhaps some sighs. And it's hard to tell whether you're truly asleep for some of this, though I think yes. The...

Re: UARS and CA events... time for an ASV?
You are not experiencing treatment-emergent central apnea, because you're not having any central apnea events. You may be experiencing some instability in your flow rate, though that isn't apparent from the Oscar material that you posted. You mention frequent arousal breathing, though that too isn't...

Re: Getting More Sleep Makes Me More Tired! Anyone Else?
Oh good; I thought you meant your were tired all the time. But getting sleepy earlier at night isn't really a problem. For whatever reason, your body is shifting your schedule around on you. I'd say to do what it's telling you to do.

Re: New to Oscar - hoping someone can help analyze my data
At 6.2, you don't get the full benefit of your EPR for some of the time. That's because the lowest pressure the machine can deliver is 4. So for consistent EPR of 3, your minimum needs to be at least 7. If you want to try an experiment, you could also set your maximum to 7, which would eliminate pre...

Re: Feel better with worse graphs
If your AHI and sleep quality are good, you can count your fine-tuning as a complete success. Don't worry about how your graphs look.

Re: Getting More Sleep Makes Me More Tired! Anyone Else?
Are you tired during the day, or are you sleepy? If you're tired, you might talk with your doctor about tests to see whether there's something else going on. You might also review side-effects for any medications you've started taking since you started sleeping longer. And have you tried making your...

Re: Central Airway events and AHI increasing (new APAP user)
With an AHI consistently below 1.5, you don't need to give a thought to reducing the number of CAs that you're seeing. Keep your EPR where it is if it is comfortable for you. Don't mess with success!

Re: ResMed Autoset 11 Settings Optimization
With your current settings of min 4 max 7 and no EPR, you are spending a lot of the night at 7, largely due to your flow limitations. If you set your min and max to 7 with EPR of 3, your average pressure over the night will be lower, since your exhalations will all be at 4. But I'm all in favor of g...
