Re: Turning CPAP Off and Back On During Sleep Interruptions
What you're doing is exactly what sleep experts recommend. The only question I'd have is whether you're still meeting your minimum hours per day for insurance purposes during your trial period. Do you know whether there's a minimum you need to meet?

Re: 22 Centrals AHI, on BiPaP, What to change?
The chart you posted is for 45 minutes of time on the machine, and it looks like you were probably awake the whole time. Do you think that's true? If so, the CAs are meaningless. Is your stomach getting distended with air? If it isn't, then that issue doesn't call for any changes to your settings. I...

Re: Finally getting better
Masks can be a trial, that's for sure. I used the P10 for a while but found that it slid around too much. I also tried the i mask and had the same problem you did -- couldn't fall asleep with the rustling noise so close to my ears. I did well with the Aloha nasal pillow mask, which was very stable. ...

Re: Finally getting better
Congratulations on the great numbers and improved rest. Onward and upward! Could you tell us more about your mask problem? Also, I'm curious whether you could aim to get more sleep at night. I have chronically dry eyes, and I use TheraTears Dry Eye Therapy Eye Drops throughout the day. They really h...

Re: Understanding OSCAR data, would love some help please
Welcome! You're off to an excellent start, with good numbers and a great attitude. During normal sleep, most people have a few events -- CAs if nothing else -- so just be aware that most of us would say an AHI under 1 is excellent. I see that your sleep study noted a fair number of arousals after pe...

Re: Still Feeling Terrible After 3 Months
As Pugsy says, you should just ignore CAs that are flagged when you are pretty sure you were awake. I don't see a big change in your flow limitations with the lower pressure. You could try going lower to see whether that helps -- say, to a range of 8 to 10. This is just an experiment, in case higher...

Re: Looking for OSCAR interpretation assistance and Aerophagia
I'd say you need to experiment with lower pressures to find the sweet spot between controlling aerophagia and keeping your AHI low

Re: Flow Limitation
About masks: the Aloha nasal pillow mask is pretty stable and has a loop on the top of the top head-strap that you can run your short hose through if you want. It's a little fiddly to put together and take apart, but it might be worth a look.

Re: Flow Limitation
Yes, you could do an Afrin experiment. Some people benefit from using Flonase, though it takes a week or two to kick in. And if you haven't already, you might get yourself tested for allergies.

Re: Still Feeling Terrible After 3 Months
You could try lowering your pressure a little if you want to. I say that because you aren't having any OAs. Possibly that would help you sleep more restfully; at any rate, it's an experiment worth trying. It could also be interesting to see whether your flow limitations go up if your pressure goes d...

Re: Flow Limitation
Your 95% number went from .03 to .00, which is a significant change. I wouldn't worry about the CAs. The key question is whether you have more restful sleep with EPR of 3. Give it at least 3 or 4 nights before you try to answer that question.

Re: first night with cpap a total failure - what now?
Anxiety can cause pins and needles, and I bet that was what was happening. Your body needs some time to get used to the new experience. Please set your machine up outside your bedroom during the day or evening and use it while you read, watch TV, or use your devices. The idea is that you start getti...

Re: Flow Limitation
It's fine to ignore FLs if you want to. On the other hand, if you are not yet sleeping well, and you want to experiment, you could try using more EPR to see whether that made you sleep better. -- Notice I said nothing about the numbers there!
