Re: 12 volt problems
Are you saying you are trying to power the CPAP machine with USB? That can't supply enough power. The machine would reset when the motor starts. If you are in an rv, you should be able to get 12 volts.

Re: Clearing nasal passage - Tips please.
People hate me for this... but I can recommend Afrin. I hate that you said that. I too found that Afrin was very effective. I would use more when it wore off. But it took less and less time for it to wear off. My congestion and runny nose got worse. It was the Afrin that was causing the problem. I ...

Re: Ambien withdrawal
I tapered off Ambien successfully. I had been using 10 mg. Then I went to half the 10 mg pill, then every other night. But I was not on it as long as you.
Cognitive behavior therapy also helped.

Re: Morf Nasal Mask - custom fit mask
The Morf mask requires molding to your face. The Morf mask is very interesting. It can mold for an exact fit with your face. Other masks make you choose between 3 or fewer sizes to get a compromise fit. They depend on flexibility to make the fit acceptable. The Morf can fit exactly. But it is not fl...

I am having a better time. I have used it two nights, but I want to get more experience before I report.

Re: How often do you replace your humidifier chamber?
The chamber life depends on how often you drop it, how often you use Soclean and how often you put the non-dishwasher safe version in the dishwasher. I replace mine almost every time I drop it.

Re: How often should I clean hose without using humidifier
My hose is about 6 years old, but I have never cleaned it. It is like new. If I used William Shatner approved methods of cleaning, it might not have lasted as long.

Re: Swallowing Saliva with CPAP Plugs My Ears
When you yawn or swallow, you are equalizing the pressure between your throat and your inner ear. CPAP makes the throat pressure higher so that the inner ear pressure will be higher than the outer pressure. The difference is usually not a problem.

Re: Water chamber
The humidifier must be working because that's where the water in the tube is coming from. You can prevent condensation in the tube by using a hose cover, or a heated tube, or turning down the humidity (water heater).

Re: air leaking into closed mouth
If you have a nasal mask and you open your mouth, your air will be short circuited. Air will flow in your nose and out your mouth. It will flow fast enough to dry out your mouth even if the humidity it on the maximum. Your machine will not prevent or indicate apneas when this happens. There are seve...

Re: Suffocating on CPAP
Your feeling of suffocating might be because your pressure is too low. Some people feel this way with a setting of 4 cm H2O. Or your feeling might be from a vent that is not working right. The mask has a vent that is like a controlled leak. This is the only way that exhaled air gets out. Our urge to...

Re: Room humidifier needed?
You did not say what kind of mask you are using. I use a nasal pillow. I have had bad dry mouth when I open my mouth when sleeping. The air goes in your nose and out your mouth. You have a high flow that makes the humidifier less effective. Check the leakage in OSCAR.

SleepWeaver makes cloth masks. They are very comfortable. They are also sensitive to how they are used and may leak. Buy from a vendor that lets you return it if not satisfied.

Re: Airfit P10 mold in vent, does it mean mold in the cpap?
If the mask is damp and you put it in a zip lock bag, you could get mold. If you don't dump the water when you turn off the machine you could get heavy condensation, which could lead to mold. Resmed mitigates this with a cool down cycle.

Ebay has many chin straps for less than $10. I got one and was happy with it except it was too hot. My wife likes to set the thermostat high.
