Re: Issue with my Dad’s Luna G3 CPAP

Sometimes if a machine doesn't sense enough breathing the auto-off can shut it down unnecessarily. This is not how any of the machines impliment auto-off. Auto-off will turn off when they sense excess leak rates, this is how they make the determination that the mask has been taken off. When devices...

Re: For those running APAP with a narrow range.....

Your statement above that they "don't care" is just plain wrong. You don't know as much as you think you do. Lane101: Thoroughly researched APAP algorithms per above post. "I read things, I'm an expert". Lane101: False quote, I never said this. See my response below. Please stop making things up. N...

Your statement above that they "don't care" is just plain wrong. You don't know as much as you think you do. Lane101: Thoroughly researched APAP algorithms per above post. Unclear why you are referring to having figured out therapy settings that take my AHI below 1.0 as just "good enough". Your sta...

Re: For those running APAP with a narrow range.....

But do you understand by having the max setting at 12 it could keep the min. pressure from rising any higher if needed? Yes I do. Exactly what I'm trying to achieve by capping it as I don't need a higher pressure for an effective therapy. Should my AHI results go up then I would adjust accordingly.

Re: Issue with my Dad’s Luna G3 CPAP

I just received the same machine and as soon as I put mask on or plug hole it shuts off. Can you tell me if you were able to correct this problem? Any help would be great Thank you If you don't have it the links below provides access to a G3 user manuals that may be of help. While I'm not directly ...

Re: For those running APAP with a narrow range.....

That is not always true per the reasons noted by others above. In my case the Dreamstation APAP algorithms chase what appears to be percentage AHI improvements that result in unnecessarily high pressures. You don't understand how the machines work. they don't "care" about AHI, the AHI is just what ...

That is not always true per the reasons noted by others above. For example to take an AHI of 0.9 down to 0.6 my machine would jack up the pressure max from 1...

Re: external power source for camping with CPAP

Does anyone use an external power source for their CPAP when they are camping? I am very confused reading recommendations on the net. So...what one do you use? Does it have to be designed for use with your particular CPAP? Once it is charged, do you just plug the CPAP into it, or does it need some ...

Re: new phillips respironics dream station bipap...12v?

Hello I just got a new phillips respironics dream station bipap and I am wondering if it can run on 12 volts? thank you If this is like my Philips Respironics Dream Station APAPs it can run directly on 12 volts if you use the proprietary DC connector cord. Note that the same cord works for both Dre...

Re: Phillips DS1 vs DS1-replacement vs DS2

I second Grumpy48's view and hope Philips remains in the business post-recall. Right now the only two major players left are Philips and ResMed as most others have dropped out of the market due to low market shares, pandemic supply issues and possibly to avoid similar recall foam issues on their dev...

Re: Lifespan of my machine

Hi all, I my machine has just over 13,000 hours of blow time. Is that a lot? How long do these things typically last? This is my first one. I have the REMStar 60 Series, purchased in 2015 from Grayghost4. Thanks! Wasn't the 60 series part of the Philips recall? If so you may be eligible for a new r...

Re: For those running APAP with a narrow range.....

Curious: how did you figure out where to set your max pressure? Also, while I'm thinking about it: do you check for leaks at that max pressure? I guess my thinking is: if it's good at the Max pressure it's definitely going to be good below that. Cheers. "narrow range" is something that people that ...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

So they did not require you to send the "evidence" machine back to get the replacements? Interesting. The one I'm keeping (out of three) I did not request a replacement for. Haven't decided if I'll bother sending them back anything for these other two. Maybe I'll spend the next 22 months deciding a...

Re: DC power cable for Dreamstation

Yes - this must be the problem! While browsing the Respironics recall thread, I ran across similar advice, posted by Lane101 a couple of months ago: "You can use the same 12 volt battery that works with your System One with the DS1 if you buy a Philips shielded DC power cord. It will plug into a 12...

Re: Confused about run times for CPAP battery banks

I have a Dreamstation 1 CPAP that says it uses 6.67 amps at 12 volts, or about about 80 watts of power. It appears this must include the humidifier. How does a CPAP battery with 160 watt hours of power manage to power a Dreamstation 1 for 8 hours? Does the CPAP really not take 80 watts? My minimum ...
