Re: Cleaning the HumidX cartridge

Actually, ResMed say not to rinse the cartridges as water will ruin them. In order to work, the cartridges have to be filled with some type of humidifying gel, similar to what's used in cigar humidors or musical instrument storage. When you exhale, the cartridge absorbs some of the moisture from yo...

Re: Resmed Aircurve Water Tank Mod

Refilling the tank without dumping the water is fine if one uses distilled water. But, if one uses tap water, it will dramatically increase the mineral buildup. I use tap water, dump and refill every night, mineral build up isn't a problem. someone made a mod to allow one to add a bigger tank that f...

Re: My Airfit P10 nose pillows slip off

Is the strap on your p10 the original strap?

If it is it likely doesn't have the elasticity to keep it tight. Replace it.

Newer P10 straps have a built in clip that gives the wearer more control over the tightness.

Re: zonker therapy thread redux: vauto is coming

On a more serious note. When I moved from the Air 10 AS for Her to the VAuto, Pugsy advised me on the settings based on my AutoSet settings. She also shared her experience on increasing Pressure Support (PS) to 4. Based on her experience, I set PS to 4 and love it. Feels so much more comfortable tha...

Re: Resmed Airsense 11 - Where to buy ??

... Thye told me the s11 was not available yet maybe mid 22, they did not even know the price other than saying it will be more than the s10. One other thing I did notice is the s10 uses a CDMA cellular internet connection to report its daily results and that network will be turned off this year Sp...

Re: Using D cells for that once-in-10-year emergency event

This is really starting to fall into the category of, if you need to ask how to do something, you probably should not be doing it . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzWJ1ZNSU80 so, unless someone is born with knowledge, they can't learn anything? Nope, not suggesting that at all. One has to be reali...

Re: Using D cells for that once-in-10-year emergency event

In that case, a few other issues get brought up: I don't think the 8 LR20s that would get my 12V would have the required charge. I can still use the same number of batteries in parallel, but I also don't have much experience designing for dry cells that are in parallel, so I don't know how uneven v...

Re: Using D cells for that once-in-10-year emergency event

You don't *want* to go 24 volts. As SleepGeek pointed out, you shuld go 12v and use the ResMed DC-DC converter. ResMed Air 9/10/11 devices don't accept straight 24 volts. They require a cable providing 24v (power), 3.3v(control) and ground. The connector is different, depending on whether you have t...

I remember 2014 . . .
How do people find these old threads?
I mean, how the HELL do they?
They enter search strings like "used resmed s8 elite for sale", then start clicking links without reading critically.

Similar to how Anti-vaxxers do their COVID research.

Be sure to read the instructions to get a clean installation. Oscar has always worked on Linux (Ubunto) and SleepyHead has support...

Re: OSCAR 1.3.0 is released 10/17/2021

I tried to install the Mac version of 1.3.0 and was unable to under Mac OS 12.1. I get the following pop up: “OSCAR” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified. This item is on the disk image “OSCAR-1.3.0.dmg”. Firefox downloaded this disk image today at 7:44 AM from www.sleepfiles.c...
