Re: Resmed Airsense 11 question
It takes an act of God to get the serial number re-assigned to someone else and has to be done by the original dispensing DME I had to do this yesterday. My husband’s machine malfunctioned. Fortunately I have an identical machine and a travel machine, so I was able to give him my machine to use whi...

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User
A quick update -- not much has changed. He's still having stretches of a couple of hours of good sleep with almost no apneas broken by stretches where he's struggling with the mask and waking up and recording lots of clear airway events and obstructive apneas that seem to be mostly arousal events. H...

He's a Tibetan Spaniel. The breed is not classified as brachycephalic, but his nose is shorter than most Tibbies. Plus he's 10 years old.
He's my avatar.

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User
He had a great night last night! Unfortunately, I didn't put the SD card in so all I have this morning is the MyAir data: MyAir0920.png He really felt good this morning and says he is finally used to the machine. So we're not going to change a thing at the moment. If it were my husband I would make ...

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User
Redo that segment but this time about 6 or 7 minute segment. left side start at about 00:12 and end at 00:19. He seems to have been awake until 00:14. This is 00:15 - 00:19. screenshot-20210920-104059-15-19.png And this is the very beginning. screenshot-20210920-104521-12-19.png Is there a way othe...

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User
(continued from above) Then there's another giant cluster from 3:05 until 3:39. Again, the breathing becomes very irrregular. So are these actual apneas or artifacts of restlessness? screenshot-20210919-183845-3am.png And finally, we have a cluster starting at 5:39 and continuing until he gets up at...

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User
Progress is being made, I think. Both in his sleep and in my understanding of what I'm looking at. I've watched the videos Pugsley recommended at http://freecpapadvice.com/sleepyhead-free-software. I've read lots of threads on this forum and apneaboard. I'm going to post several screenshots and my b...

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User
Wow! The zoom stuff is way cool.
I did the third event after 3:30 and also the event at 3:30 itself. I wonder if all this is connected to his COPD in some way.
Thank you for looking at this.

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User
Progress is being made, in small increments. He's tolerating a high pressure of 15 with a minimum of 10. Still way too many central apneas in clusters. I think some of the issue is positional, but he's both a side sleeper and a back sleeper and I have no idea which position he's in at what time. We ...

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User
Last night's OSCAR data. I'm horrified by the massive clusters of apneas, but I am heartened by the 5 relatively long periods with no obstructive apneas and relatively few central apneas. At his request I bumped the minimum pressure up to 9. Tonight I'm going to try to persuade him to let me turn th...

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User
I don't think it's a good idea to just adjust settings without consulting a doctor, personally. Given my druthers, I’d love to be working with a doctor who was truly knowledgeable and committed to working with us to get to a satisfactory pressure. But instead I get a nurse who just blindly parrots ...

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User
Is your husband having very much nasal congestion at all during the night? Does he take any medications of any kind? If so, what? Any history of congestive heart failure issues? Sorry -- somehow I missed that post. No congestion, no congestive heart failure. Mild COPD, bad silent reflux. Meds: omep...

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User
Here's last night's OSCAR data. The good news is that the central apneas are down. And he says he feels better this morning and that he's getting used to his mask. The bad news is that the obstructive apneas are way up. He had several stretches with no events at all. While I don't necessarily trust ...
