Re: Where do you put your machine?
I put mine on my bass amplifier. I'm a musician. My bass amp IS my night stand. My wife's sits on her regular nightstand. We've talked about building a matching custom set. I need a small amp in my bedroom, and it would be good to have something integrated into normal looking furniture. And ...

Re: How Important is Leakage
It might be SUPER important to your significant other, if it's keeping him/her up.
I use CPAP myself. When my SO started on it, I had to use earplugs until we found a good mask setup. I was pretty cranky for a while there.

Re: Insurance / No Insurance
Don't sweat it. Honestly, I see little point in using insurance on CPAP stuff unless you've hit your deductible. Of course, it's a no-brainer if you've hit our out-of-pocket max though. I've bought 3 machines in the last 3 years and lots of supplies. Machine (ResMed Autoset 10 (for her)): I bought t...

Re: Rudeness
I'm not interested in telling others how to conduct themselves, and it's obvious that no one is interested in modifying their behavior because of this thread or others like it. Lesson learned from the past. Accept and move on. Decide if the pros of staying here outweigh the cons, and determine your ...

Re: My journey: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia
I've definitely done that at different times in my life. It's difficult now because of several late night obligations each week. And my CBT-I was always based on maintaining a consistent schedule. It's easier for me if I stay up later than I'd like on my free nights.

Re: saline solution in heated humidifier
I have a distiller. It is a space hog, but makes all the distilled water I need for the price of electricity. Since the local utility is publicly owned and one of the lowest-priced in the country, I love it. I only buy water when I travel; and my salt stays in the kitchen, where it belongs. Not qui...

Re: My journey: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia
I'd like to follow this. I suffer from "insomnia". I'll fall asleep within minutes, but tend to wake up after 3 hours, ready to jam (for a few hours anyway), then I lose my steam and need my 2nd sleep. I can do that on vacation and feel great! But I, like most people, have to work on my boss' schedu...

Re: Rudeness
Funny. Bad attitude and disrespect have no other source or cause than the person from whom they originate. There's really no excuse for it. I was on the phone with HP support this morning, and found myself falling into that behavior. There were plenty of excuses I could use to justify it (bad connec...

Re: Meds or not for sleep study
My doctor gave me the option.
But since I tend to avoid medication of any sort and said no thank you. I wish I had said yes. It was one of my roughest sleeping nights ever, and I had a full schedule of work to attend to the next day. It was a brutal 24 hours.

Craigslist. Local Classifieds. Pressing the Home and Select button at the same time for a few seconds will pull up the Clinician Settings menu, giving you Nordic god-like powers.

Re: MyAir data great, should I be content with that?
I use MyAir to track my sleep time when I go through phases of insomnia - that's about all that seems truly useful there.
