Re: Cold/Cool versus Warm air from CPAP humidifier
I must have cool air to breathe in order to fall asleep. The humidifier with heat did not work for me. I tried filling my water chamber with distilled water, freezing, and turning the heat to zero. This worked for awhile but the water chambers corrode and had to be washed daily. I tried filling them...

Re: OT--Shoulder Surgery.
Very important to try not and overdo it after surgery. I had a complete rotator cuff tear repaired in August. Started therapy a bit too soon (two weeks) and tore it again. Had second surgery in October. Recovery is very slow and painful however I am hopeful I can get back on my bicycle in the Spring...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
I started with my CPAP in 2014 and it took me several months to get used to it. I have a blood disorder called Polycythemia which means I have too many red blood cells. Re: Dry mouth help
All I can do is tell you what works for me. I use the GC Dry Mouth gel just before I put my full face mask on. I turn the humidifier setting to zero. I completely fill the water chamber with ice cubes. This gives me cool air to breather rather than heated air. Every once in awhile I have to use a se...

Re: Sleep Apnea and Red Blood Cell Count
I was diagnosed with polycythemia and had to undergo a number of phlebotomies to reduce red blood cell count. Since my polycythemia was not the vera strain (genetic) the doctors looked for other underlying causes. After a sleep test showed severe apnea I started on a CPAP program. I previously worke...

Re: Dry Mouth
I guess what works for some does not work for all. I use the GC Dry Mouth Gel with good results. I have a hard time breathing warm air at night as I am used to a cool room. I fill the water chamber each night with ice chips to provide cool air and turn the heater completely off. By the time the ice ...
