Important: When they send a DreamStation2!

If you registered for a recall, you're likely to find a DreanStation2 showing up at your door. It will show up without an SD card! Included in the package will be a mailing label to send the old one back. Before you send it back, I suggest that you remove the SD card and stick it in the new machine....

Re: CPAP usage restrictions in Hospital

So - if you have COVID the air coming out of your CPAP is infected, but the air coming out of your nose and mouth is not? Were any actual medical doctors involved in that determination? Policies like this are why we no longer trust those who are supposed to be medical authorities. My understanding ...

Re: Removing insulation that caused recall of Philips System One

I would be afraid of releasing the harmful foam by opening the machine and tampering with it. It's probably a better alternative to use the machine without touching it, if you really must.

Also, given that this machine is > 5 years old, you should be eligible for a replacement.

Re: Are CPAP machine hose standard?

As already stated not-heated hoses can be used on just about any CPAP. However, as also stated, heated hoses and brand specific, and sometimes even model specific. BTW, the heated hoses from the DreamStation1 can be used with the DreamStation2. There is also a new type for the DreamStation2 that is ...

It means that – on average – you had an event every 12¾ minutes.

It does not tell you if they were evenly distributed throughout the night or of most of them happened in a small amount of time.

Great! The first step of the trial process is called "Discovery!"

This pretty much means what that word implies!

The pressure is the same. It's the way you're experiencing it that's different!

Re: plug

My F&P CPAP from 1999 (HC-201) did have a non-removable plug. I don't think anything more recent does, though.

Re: On/off button Does Not Work

My CPAP machine stop working, rather the start button doesn’t work. I have the older model of ResMed which doesn’t have the start feature that allows you to select Auto Start or whatever. Obviously since there is now a machine shortage, I don’t know what to do! :( You didn't say what model (though ...

Re: Do mask choices matter?

The choice of mask is more important than the choice of machine! The best mask is the best mask for you. It is a very personal choice; there is no best mask or best mask style in general.

Re: Dream station intermittent Humidifier

Since you're asking about a "new heater," I suspect that you have a DreamStation1 (which is white). This machine is under recall, you should use a different machine if at all possible (such as your old one). In the DreamStation2 (which is black), the heater is inseparable from the unit, so you canno...

Re: Please help. Machine sometimes cuts out.

There are auto-on/auto-off features in Philips CPAPs (maybe other brands too). I would make sure that "auto-off" is disabled. On the DreamStation2 machines this might have to be done by your DME.

If you have a rehabilitated DreamStation1, you sohuld be able to do this yourself.
