Re: Wake-sleep tansitional apnea issue
If transitional apneas wake you up they are of concern. It would help to see an OSCAR graph along with details on the machine, settings and mask. I have complex apnea and my wake/sleep transition apneas can be extreme, with O2 drops into the '80s. My approach is to treat them like other open airway ...

Re: Seeking input on how I am going RE CPAP use
Steady breathing has to be enabled. You have to enable Permissive mode in the Clinical tab in preferences. Then you have to enable Steady Breathing event type in the Events tab. If you want to see it retroactively you have to rebuild CPAP data in the Data menu. If you google it there are youtubes on...

Re: Seeking input on how I am going RE CPAP use
I've been playing with the Glasgow index for a while. My issue with it is the data isn't really actionable, i.e. it may show something undesirable but there's no real way to work on improving it, at least that I can find or figure out. My index is pretty consistent across APAP, CPAP and ASV at domin...

Re: Rainout Solution Suggestions
Amazon has a number of 8 ft covers which are a bit too long. But you can also install a standard cover over the mask leader hose laving it short at the machine end where everything is warmer anyway. Or you can get a short additional cover as others have mentioned.

I almost forgot. I've used both of these hangers: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FJMGTKN9?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089W44YZR?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_9 The main thing is to figure out what works with your bed. The clamp on one works well ...

Re: Rainout Solution Suggestions
First, try setting the humidity to Auto. You can either set the tube temperature to Auto, or set a number to make it higher or lower. Auto is equivalent to 81F. Higher will generally give you more humidity since the machine can and will increase humidity with temperature. Using manual on the humidit...

Re: Can anyone help me? Oximeter data vs Watchpat
Given your symptoms, especially your wife's observation it seems likely that you have sleep apnea. A one night sleep study, especially one with just pulse oxy channels may not be very accurate. Since you have the recording pulse oxy you should track your ODI and events for a while to see how repeata...

Re: Auto on/off: consensus on reliability? (Airsense 11)
On the AS10 at least I find that the reliability of auto on/off is mask dependent. With top feed like the P30i or Dreamwear pillows mine tends to turn on unexpectedly if the mask is moved around. In general I think its most reliable with high flow masks, i.e. full face.

Re: Resmed brand power supply.
I purchased what I thought would be a 3rd party Resmed supply from Amazon about a year ago. I got a genuine Resmed supply though. There are at least two different power supplies, the older ones are larger and heavier than the new one's. The one I got was the older style. I also see that there are "r...

You can clone the SD card on a computer. You just need 2 USB SD card readers. A simple copy from the machine card to a blank card is all that's needed.

Re: How to test a Climateline heated hose
1. I didn't say this was intended to diagnose or test the machine. Only to verify that the hose sensor and heater are still connected and not shorted. There aren't many failure modes for these things and if the resistances are correct it's almost certain the hose is OK. It's just a go/no go hose tes...

How to test a Climateline heated hose
Hose failures have come up off and on. I just went through a batch of about 10 hoses to check them electrically and thought I'd pass on my procedure. Note that I've never found a test procedure from Resmed, this is purely my invention. Note that I was testing S10 hoses, but the S11 hoses should be t...

Re: Is my Deviated septum cause of poor sleep or something else?
Regarding the deviated septum. If you can't breath through one nostril by all means get the surgery. I had septum & turbinate surgery a few years ago, trust me, breathing is better than not. I had issues with nasal congestion and still do. The difference is that I never get to the point where air do...

Re: Looking for some opinions on rental/purchase/use for Apap
Ignoring the discussion on taxes and insurance. I've had 8 machines over the years. 3 were through insurance the rest I purchased out of pocket, used or new. Nothing wrong with rent to own if your insurance picks up the rental and copay, you can always change suppliers for supplies later on. But if ...

What kind of failures are you having? My 10 series hoses last pretty much forever.
