I take about 2 or 3 cruises a year but I always try to be independent of any assistance from outsiders. Have you tried removing the velcro that holds the thin hose to the side of the strap and instead using a tape to fasten it to the buckle at the tip of your hear...this will route the hose over your head and to the back of the pillow and take the strain off of the connection.
