Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

I began using a system One Machine in 2012. That machine got noisy, so I replaced it with another one in 2015. In 2019, I had swelling and puffiness in my left jaw. Turned out to be Salivary Gland Cancer. I found many research articles investigating links between CPAP use and Salivary Gland Cancer. ...

CPAP use and CANCER (long term use of Philips System One)

I put in my Serial Number and it says my machine is affected. I am so pissed. I have been dealing with Cancer that began in my Parotid Salivary Gland for 2-1/2 years. I also have metastasis in my lymph cells, lungs, and liver. These are exactly the types of cancer listed as strong possibilities in t...

Re: Why is it necessary to have a support team?

From reading the last post, it confirms my suspicions that Sleep Labs and DME's are just in it for the money. I've got my own equipment and now I'm having trouble finding a DME that will sell me mask's and tanks thru my Employer's Insurance Plan. There seems to be a code that if you go "Outside" the...

Re: CPAP Novice User

I had the same experience (blowing around and very dry) with Nasal Masks and quickly changed to full face. Full face masks do not allow the air to just blow in the nostrils and right out your mouth. Having both the mouth and nose under pressure keeps me open. Do you have a humidifier? Have you worke...

Re: Heated Hose

I have used a heated respirator for many years. I just got a heated hose a few days ago. I did not like the feeling of HOT AIR in my mask from the heated hose. I had it set to #3. Turned it down to 2, but felt the moisture was not there. Last night, I turned off the heated hose, set the humidifier b...

Re: Follow Up Sleep Studies

Yes, I was lucky to find my new machine online and they shipped without an RX. Many online DME's state policies requiring an RX for a machine or masks. The local DME's are very jealous of the online stores and throw a fit if they find out you can get things without the RX. The HST doctors office adv...

Re: Please help

Have you tried adjusting your pressure range higher? Your MIN of 4.00 might be too low. Get the MIN closer to the pressure you need. Allow the MAX some room to go higher, in case the machine decides you need the extra pressure at times. Then, look at the readings in your software and see what your a...

Follow Up Sleep Studies

Hello Everyone: I am very troubled about my recent experiences with Doctors and DME suppliers. I have successfully used CPAP since 2004. The treatment has changed my nightly sleep experience in a very positive way. I was always a very loud snorer, but I had started to awake frequently gasping for ai...

Re: need advice pl

It always seems to me that many Doctors, DMEs, and Sleep Techs steer people towards nasal masks or pillows. If they actually used a CPAP, Flex, or APAP machine they would understand the flaws of not covering both the mouth and nose together for effective treatment. I've watched others use straps to ...
