Re: Philips Respironics Recall V2.0 Questions and Answers
At least they are communicating with you. Us PR System One users are screwed.

Re: Philips Respironics Recall V2.0 Questions and Answers
Here is a question. I have a PR System One. Does anyone know what they are doing for these? I know the DS1 is being replaced by the DS2. Does anyone have a PR System One and have they done anything for you and/or contacted you (or really ANYTHING)? I saw Nicko on Youtube literally had to pull his ap...

Re: Are these good numbers for a beginner?
These numbers are looking good with the low Obstructive events and only occasional hypopneas. It gets easier. And then after a while it becomes habitual, and then (like many of us) you find you can't sleep without it.

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
Just got my letter today, turns out my PR System One is an affected model. I'm concerned that their solution will be to have me send in my machine, and this seems like a lipstick on a pig type solution, plus I need to get a new machine. They really dropped the ball on this. My machine is from 2014. ...

What mask are you using? Headgear is replaceable so you may be able to get a new one.

Re: xxyzx and Morbius Spam Buttons Removed
I have been lurking on this issue for a while, but I think it is high time to actually contribute. I have noticed these things happen with alarming regularity and they need to end. 1. Offering opinions as facts. We all know that learning to cope with xPAP therapy can have nuance that only works for ...

Re: The Cpap process is very frustrating
Stupid question Max, have you tried a chinstrap? I know with a full face it sounds redundant and could possibly cause leaks but at this point is there anything else to try?

Re: Perception of length of time while on CPAP
I can also confirm, as your body adjusts to your new sleeping patterns time will even out. It is also possible that your body is still adjusting to life under the mask (so to speak) and some awakenings are simply caused by your body reacting to wearing the mask itself. Three years into therapy (and ...

Re: Do you switch between masks?
For me the secret was a mask liner. I could NOT tolerate having the rubber/silicone on my face. Buying a mask liner (Pad-A-Cheek) was the key to making it work. There is at least one company, Circadiance, that makes a cloth based mask called the Anew, but I have not tried it.

Re: Mask Suggestions
Changing from a Wisp to a full face mask essentially changed my ability to tolerate the therapy. I am a mouth breather and I couldn't deal with the chinstrap. I use a Fisher and Paykel, Simplus mask and I have had nothing but success with it.

Re: hose is rattling
For Rainout, if the unit you have has no heated hose option, try a hose cover like SnuggleHose.

Re: Replacement machine
This is a bit controversial, but I suggest not using a DME at all. The ones I have worked with (Apria and Mid-Atlantic) have both been horrible. I was having trouble with my nasal mask and went in to try out a full face mask (my preferred mask type today) fitting and the woman at Apria told me just ...

Hey Cudos, sorry for the late reply but as a person who, like you had a lot of initial trouble, I wanted to give you some simple reassurances about the process. If there is one common theme about this forum it is this, any OSA therapy will require a lot of adjustment. But you will find that with tim...

Re: Anyone watch Modern Family Tonight?
The now cancelled show Happy Endings showed it in a much more positive realistic light. In one episode they showed that one of the male characters (a fit African-American) used a CPAP to sleep and then he met Brent Musburger in a hotel lobby and showed what a great mask he had for the device. No tha...

The stupidest part was that they showed the sisters machine with a giant light on it. Yeah that's super useful on something designed to help you sleep...
