@ ups4 : How does that square with the article on filters and bacteria Dec 15, 2007 cited in the article you drew our attention to?
My response was for the original poster.
I really don't know what you're asking.

Re: Deionized water vs distilled water

Here is some science that may ease your mind about what water to use. CPAP uses pass-over humidification which produces water vapor. Not aerosolization. The result is a much smaller water vapor molecule that is incapable of transmitting any pathogens that may be in your water. You're breathing pure ...

Re: How do I know if I am a mouth breather?

You would notice 2 things if you're a mouth breather.
Your mouth would be extremely dry during the night and in the morning, and you would probably notice an increase in leaks.

IIRC myAir scores leak rates based on an excess of 24 L/min. You'll get the smiley face if you stay under that threshold.

Re: What machine to get?? HELP ASAP

The ResMed machine would be your better choice here. Even though the S9 is very dated, it will most likely give you effective treatment. Mask type is going to be a purely personal preference. There are full face masks, nasal pillow masks, and nasal masks...plus hybrids of all of those. If possible y...

Re: Smart ring at home testing for sleep apnea

Oxygen levels aren't the only criteria when diagnosing sleep apnea, so I would say it's not a very reliable indicator for detecting sleep apnea.

Very Strange Breathing Pattern

I have had a couple of "different" nights of sleep lately. Two days ago, my AHI shot up to 4.5, and the following day it was much higher than normal at 2.9. Then last night it was back down to near normal at .99, but there were several CA detected at over 30 seconds each. I think the longest I've ev...

Re: Traveling with a CPAP Machine

myAIr doesn't support the AirMini. You would need a separate app for the AirMini.

Re: Question About ResMed N30i Frame/Cushion

Seems the new frame and old cushion aren't compatible. I couldn't get one side of the cushion to connect to the frame. You will most likely find that the hard plastic connecting piece from your old nose piece is still in the headgear assembly, and that is why the new nose piece won't go in. You sho...

Question About ResMed N30i Frame/Cushion

I'm using the N30i mask and it's the one for me. Best mask I've tried over the years. About 3 days ago I noticed the cushion was not connected to one leg of the frame. When I tried to reconnect it, it wouldn't connect. Turns out there is a little plastic oval insert that was missing from the end of ...

Re: Resmed Air Sense vs the SoClean Machine

I guess the most concerning question is, what makes you think you need a "cleaning" device like this?

It seems there is evidence that shows ozone is harmful to certain plastics, but there is no scientific proof that these devices do anything more than clean your wallet.

Re: CPAP in-network Supplier for United Health Care Medicare advantage plans

I use UHC as well, and their website is atrocious. I just tried 15 different ways to log in to check on this and each time there was an error. I have my login info saved on my computer so I know it's correct. I was finally able to successfully log in....not sure how....and after clicking a few links...
