Re: ResMed For Sale

Phil: Sell the Philips; keep the ResMed (and the cannoli). Just sayin' what I'd do. But if that's a VAUTO with all the fixin's and only 40 hours, I'd personally feel I was ripping you off to give that little. Hey, just me. Is it one of these (AirCurve), which would likely be worth more than what yo...

SOLD....ResMed For Sale

After I got tired of waiting for Philips to replace my recalled C-Pap, I ordered a new ResMed AirCurve10. Several weeks later my Philips replacement came in so I now have an extra machine that I don’t need. I have yet to figure out the value of the AirCurve10, but I certainly do want to sell it. Unt...

Philips Replacement

I just received the Philips replacement but it is not set up with a prescription. My question is: Can I take the SD card from the original machine and use it to set up the new one?

RemStar Plus LX

I have the captioned C-Pap machine that I haven't used for 3-4 years. I believe it to be complete with power cord and Instruction Manual.

Anyone who wants it can have it. My location is West Sacramento,CA.

Cpap Machine Life Span

Realizing that there is probably a wide range of Cpap machines' longevity, is there an understanding of what that range has been in the past?

Re: SleepyHead won't work WWindows 10?

It turns that the problem that I was having was that after installing SH, the process of importing data provides no indication that anything is happening, and at some point a "Sleepyhead is not responding" prompt appears. It turns out that something was happening, and the import was actually being d...

Re: SleepyHead won't work WWindows 10?

I'm having the same kind of problem where SH stops responding on my W10.

Re: CPAP Newbie. Feeling overwhelmed and frustrated

One of the things that you might find very helpful is to somehow come up with a CPAP "Buddy". Someone you can actually talk to in an effort to help unravel some of the basics. I find that conversation greatly speeds up understanding more than written communication and is often more clear and timely ...

Re: mouth breathing alarm?

I found that tape worked for awhile, but then I got to the point that I didn't need the tape any more. There was a post awhile back that described how you could "vacuum" your mouth with your tongue up against the back of your upper teeth. I consiously did that during the day and found that this beca...

Re: The Impact of Leaks

I totally agree on the chin strap, and I’ve used the mouth tape routine for quite a while. It’s interesting what we can actually adjust to however. At one time I thought I absolutely needed a wrist watch, and then mine broke. Guess I didn’t need that after all. Now I’m trying to get used to one of t...

Re: Vacation (hotel) questions

For short trips like you describe, I leave the humidifier at home. Less bulk, and no water issues. It's your call of course, but in my case the humidifier is between3-4 with an unheated hose. You could always test this at home first.

Re: The Impact of Leaks

Pugsy, By “red line” I’m thinking that you mean the Sleepyhead LL red line. In looking back on SH I see that my leaks mostly spike and they run between .15 hours to .45 hours. Sometimes none at all. I’m guessing that most leaks may be times when I lift the mask to re-adjust it. Interestingly enough,...

The Impact of Leaks

I’ve often wondered why I should think or worry about leaks if my AHI was around 1.0 or so. At last night’s lab sleep test, in a conversation with the generally unhelpful respiratory therapist, something she said while admonishing me for changing my own Cpap settings, made me think that maybe leaks ...

Re: Regular snoring versus sleep apnea

I guess I should be more precise. Is there any way that reducing or even eliminating snoring is of any benefit as respects apnea?
