Re: Are the machines so different?
Think of algorithms as music to make things run. Change the melody--the dance steps and words are different too. You still get across the dance floor, still get to hold your honey. Think of the brands of different machines as different levels of physical fitness. Or talented vs just OK bands. Love ...

Re: Are the machines so different?
It's not so much a newer vs older thing as it is a brand difference thing. The two brands have two different algorithms when it comes to doing their respective jobs. Doesn't surprise me one bit that you got lower numbers with the ResMed at pretty much the exact same settings as you were using on th...

Are the machines so different?
I had been using a PR System One 960 ASV for a while with my Oracle mask. I was able to get my numbers down to AHI 5. Got an ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV. Put in the same numbers I used with the 960. Using Sleepyhead...my reports with the 960 showed so many events, from hypopneas, OA, and centrals and occ...

Re: a question for those consistently under 5 AHI
Oracle-20190304-071152.png I use the Oracle. I also sleep on my back because of a L1 compression fracture. My bed is adjustable with my head raised and a pillow under my knees. I seemed to have found the perfect settings for both the Oracle and the AirFit F30. With the AirFit, I taped closed the na...

Re: Kardia Mobile - Personal
I have the Karda app. I first got the Kardia band along with it, but prefer the pads that fit nicely in my purse. I also find that the pads seem to do a better reading. While I do not have Atrial Fib, because I have sleep apnea and have experienced a stroke, I feel very apprehensive about being more...

Re: Oracle mouth mask?
I have similar issues...so glad the Oracle is still out there. All those new fancy new masks are great...for those who can use them. There are times I can't. My sinuses cannot stand the feel of air going through them. Luckily, I discovered one nasal mask that I can use. Somehow, the flow of air is d...

Re: Oracle mouth mask?
The Oracle is very much alive. It is the mask that some, who do not like having anything on their face, turn to. JDS74 has posted full instructions in regard to using this mask. For some it is most difficult, but I found it very easy to adjust to. You do need lots of humidity, at least I do. I purch...

Re: Do Full Face Masks Change Facial Skin for the Worst
I had bought some of the Zzzzs liners, but your DME also has various single liners. Once I had a liner that was appropriate for my mask, I made a durable stencil from it. I cut liners from old t-shirts and for smaller liners, I like the 6x6" soft material for cleaning your eyeglasses. My t-shirt lin...

Re: OT: Anyone have Google Pixel Phone?
OK...have to step up and speak for Apple Been a photographer most of my life, had two gallery showings way back. No longer active in that way, but just can’t stop myself from taking photos. I know that the Samsung Galaxy has a great camera, but this old broad just doesn’t want to switch horses at th...

Re: Taping!
I take a bandaid, cut all but 1/4 inch on each side of the pad. The pad is what goes over my lips. It is placed vertically, of course. With the bandaid, along with my chin strap, I am fine. Can’t afford to have the tape on my lips. Other times I have used a 1 1/2 strip of tape, put a 3/4 strip of ta...

Re: How does an ASV work?
I have centrals and do I ever love it when I feel my ASV kick in if my breathing hesitates. Usually I don't feel it at all, only if I have a major hesitation in my breathing

Re: AirTouch™ F20 mask
I liked it a lot, as it fit my narrow face. I did not have any leaks! While I like the AirFit F20, I always had to place my foam wedgies under the bottom strap connections to stop leaks. Was most pleased that the magnetic clips did not object! I did not need to do this with the AirTouch. I did use m...

No fun...it sounds like you are staying positive though. Your attitude is the key. You are also right in following your gut feelings.
