Re: Phantosmia/Bipab/not sleeping?
I once had an AirSense 11 that I had to return due to a burning electrical smell it produced in air output. The smell could linger after shutting down the machine. I returned it for an AirSense 10.

Re: Already at a Breaking Point with Leaky Masks...haven't slept in 2.5 weeks
https://www.padacheek.com/airfit-f40 Have you seen the Padacheek liner? It is made especially for the F40 and isn't trying to be a one size fits all like the SnugZ. Yes, I have seen the slick-looking Pad A Cheek that looks superior to what I have been using. I have a message to them to ask the ques...

Re: Does anyone want to buy a brand new Cpap? Comes with everything
I have one too. Got it from the Phillips replacement deal. I had gone through an AutoSet 10 and on a second when it arrived. My DME says they are not recalled but cannot be bought through them due to a ban on the sale of Phillips PAP machines. Why that applies to the new and improved ones sent out a...

Re: Choosing a replacement cpap
I prefer my AS10 over the AS11. The AS 10 seems more sturdy, and has a better heated tube connection. Started with a Respironics machine, then AS 10, AS 11, and back to AS 10.

Re: Mouth Tape Recommendations
Out of three tapes, I found Cover Roll to be the best sticking and lowest priced. It did better than Pap Md, and another medical tape, but unfortunately for me nothing will keep my mouth shut during sleep. Taping with Cover Roll brand may work to keep your mouth from opening but it may not. I have h...

Re: Already at a Breaking Point with Leaky Masks...haven't slept in 2.5 weeks
Running the Mask Fit test and getting the headgear and straps is essential to start a low leak sleep session but leaks can occur at any time due to movement. Leak Rate, and Large Leaks are a fact of my therapy due to moving during sleep. After my F40 moves just a bit during sleep it no longer would ...

Re: FILTERS
I tried a bacteria filter for a night and set the machine for its presence. I think the pressure increased a bit more than needed to compensate for the resistance of the filter. With humidity on the filter caused moisture to gather on it so I removed it. I don't usually use humidity and was testing ...

Re: Beware of defective ineffective filters.
This is on the verge of being nothing but a pissing contest. ENOUGH with this. Agree to disagree and move on. If you guys/gals persist in this argument I will lock the thread. This is your one and only warning. Thank you. I just saw your warning after posting an explanation about my filters to anot...

Re: Beware of defective ineffective filters.
OP will need to confirm if all the filters were the same colour. However, if different filters are actually trapping the same amount of particulates under the same conditions, then the same buildup of discolored material on top of the filter will occur regardless of its starting colour. Re: Beware of defective ineffective filters.
Chicago Granny, The filters that discolor are made of material that captures particulates that are evident by discoloration. A filter that does not capture particulate matter remains clean. The bed partner without CPAP is breathing normally, not from a machine that concentrates particulates from its...

Re: Beware of defective ineffective filters.
Don't get so hung up on the color of the filters after they're used a bit. Yes, some of the color change can be related to filter efficiency but it's also completely dependent on the air being filtered. During the winter months with the windows closed and the furnace running (filtering the air) the...

Re: F20 foam mask
Hi! Do you have an issue with the nose seal around the nostrils? I used the Liberty mask years ago, and it is similar to the F40. Infact, it was the first mask the DME gave when I brought my machine home. I had trouble with seal around the nostrils. Thanks, Sheriff I found if I put the mask straigh...

Re: Please help me understand my home sleep test results
I see you have two AHI scores. Your AHI 21.4 is from hypopneas that do not cause a reduction of oxygen in the blood over 3%. Your AHI 5 score is from hypopneas that cause more than a 4% reduction of oxygen in the blood. It is interesting to see 0's for obstructional apnea and central apnea. Did the ...

The nonsupine hypopneas double as compared to supine. Why would sleeping nonsupine be advised?ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 3:03 pm
Try sleeping exclusively on your side until you see the provider. Typically, sleep apnea is most severe on the back.
