Nasal mask questions

I’ve been using nasal pillows the last year, and it’s been good. I switched to a nasal mask (the Wisp) a week ago because I’ve been getting recurring infections in my nostrils where the nasal pillows touch my nostrils. A few questions: 1) anyone else ever get infections like this? I’ve tried disinfe...

Air pillows better than p10’s?

I have used air pillows for a a decade and used to have a favorite that I thought was unbeatable until the airfit p10’s came along and those seemed awesome. I’ve been using those for a bunch of years and figured I would check if there was anything new out there that I should try? I do love the p10’s...

Re: New CPAP clunking noise

Thanks for the responses. To answer, I use an airfit P10 (which I have used for about five years on my old PR machines that are now recalled). I swapped out the mask for a brand new one and checked that all the hoses were tight. I didn't check the humidifier seating, so maybe that was it. The clunki...

New CPAP clunking noise

I got a new resmed auto airsense 10 autoset a few weeks ago because of the recall. It is awesome, but last night thee was a bizarre clunking repetitive noise that didn't go away when I changed the mask out (t sounded like it was coming from the mask, not the machine, but I was half asleep so who kno...

Switched to ResMed; loving it

I was ultra-annoyed to hear that my CPAP may have been doing me harm, and it was a huge pain in the neck (and uber-expensive) to get a ResMed machine, but I am so much happier with my new machine. I've used PR for a decade and never tried ResMed. Am I the only one who finds ResMed way better than PR...

Re: Can I use my old battery for new dreamstation?

The specific battery is listed below, if it helps. I’ll try googling. Is there a setting or some such I can check for or maybe a different adaptor Or something? Lightweight Travel Battery Pack for Philips Respironics CPAP/BiPAP Machines E1399 DC-Power-Cord: 1097568 PR SystemOne REMstar 60 SERIES CPA...

Can I use my old battery for new dreamstation?

I have a cpap battery pack from my old machine; the plug fits into the dreamstation, and it boots up but it says “check power”. A new battery pack is many hundreds, so I’d much rather find out if I can just use a new plug or some other way, but I can’t find anything on the topic. Any advice? I’ve at...

Re: Should I retest?

Thanks, all. I am definitely one of those people who benefit from a 5 pressure: I had an AHI of about 20 pre-CPAP, and < 1 on CPAP; more importantly, I was a complete and total wreck before CPAP and better after. I guess maybe one day I'll try a night without the machine and see how I feel when I wa...

Re: Should I retest?

I do have sleepyhead and I have tons of data and experience reading the charts, but I'm not sure I can tell what's going on. I use a constant pressure of 5.0, which I think is the lowest or near lowest setting, and I average an AHI of 1 or less when using CPAP. Is it possible to use a BiPAP or APAP ...

Should I retest?

I've been on CPAP for about three or four years now, and (thanks to everyone here) I've more or less got it wired, feeling great, using it 100% of the time, sleeping well. Now that I'm feeling better, I've lost about 30 pounds, putting me squarely at my optimal weight. My question is whether I shoul...

Re: Help - Exhausted again

So I switched masks last night and am feeling much better. Has anyone else had this experience? A mask works great for a long time and then all of sudden it's tiring you out?
