Re: CPAP Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

I agree! Folks here have received a settlement, WTH? And no one talks about it? It would be a BIG help to those of us still attempting to get compensation to hear of other's success stories. Nobody has gotten a settlement yet because the court isn't even set to give final approval to the se...

Anyone get anything from this settlement yet? I went ahead and set up Zelle which supposedly allows faster payment. Nothing.
It isn't 100% clear, but it appears payments will be made after August of this year.

Re: CPAP Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

I have two CPAP machines affected by the recall. I returned the System One 60 for the $50 and got the Dreamstation replaced. I was able to easily file my claim online for the Dreamstation. I bought a Resmed out of pocket so I tried to file the form for the reimbursement for buying another CPAP, but ...

Interesting issue with CPAP and a battery bank

I have a Dreamstation 1 that can be powered directly by 12 volt DC. I bought the Philips cigarette lighter adapter to power the Dreamstation from an Anker 521 battery. I have been testing the battery with the CPAP to make sure it works for an upcoming trip with no power in a tent, but the ability to...

See? it's not 'so hard', is it?
The hard part is spending $42 instead of getting the hose at no charge through insurance.

Re: Rant: why is it so hard just to get a heated hose?

I have a sleep doctor and I can get in touch with his office on Tuesday to have them send the information to a new DME. I talked to one DME and they could sell me the hose for an inflated price without insurance, but to go through insurance requires a prescription. It will probably be the end of nex...

Rant: why is it so hard just to get a heated hose?

I don't understand why it requires a prescription or a written order just to buy a simple heated hose for a Dreamstation. I was going to order one from Amazon to get it quicker, but you have to have a business account and be a healthcare provider to order that particular item from them. I called my ...

Re: Philips recall: Take the $50 or a replacement CPAP?

I decided to just take the $50 and sent my CPAP machine to Philips for recycling a week or so ago. I already have a Dreamstation 1 and an Airsense 10. How many CPAP machines do I need?

Re: Confused about run times for CPAP battery banks

I will be using Lifepo4, not lead acid. The AC adapter uses some power, but measuring AC usage would get pretty close. I am planning on a direct DC connection to the Dreamstation.

You turn off the humidifier when you're on battery.
I am definitely planning to turn off the humidifier. I think I need to get the Kill-A-Watt to see what it really uses. I don't want to have to spend more than necessary on a battery. I can charge up every day.

Are you using a machine that was replaced under the DreamStation One recall?
My regular machine is a Resmed. Yes, this Dreamstation 1 was replaced under recall. I want to use the Dreamstation 1 for away from home and keep the Resmed for home use.

Confused about run times for CPAP battery banks

I have a Dreamstation 1 CPAP that says it uses 6.67 amps at 12 volts, or about about 80 watts of power. It appears this must include the humidifier. How does a CPAP battery with 160 watt hours of power manage to power a Dreamstation 1 for 8 hours? Does the CPAP really not take 80 watts? My minimum p...

Re: Philips recall: Take the $50 or a replacement CPAP?

I recall the Dreamstation 2 came out before the recall. I didn't realize the Resmed Airsense 10 cannot be powered directly by 12 volt. I have a backup Dreamstation 1 that I will probably use for my two week stay in a tent. No electricity in my tent, but I can charge up the battery during the day.

Re: Philips recall: Take the $50 or a replacement CPAP?

My CPAP doesn't seem to do enough good for me to worry about having a backup machine at the ready. My humidifier has had about 18 months of use. How often do the induction heaters in the humidifier go bad? I am probably going to get the replacement machine, but I need to get a copy of my prescriptio...

Re: Philips recall: Take the $50 or a replacement CPAP?

The hassle of selling wouldn't be worth making $10. Then why did you ask? It wouldn't be worth it for a $10 profit over the $50 from Philips. If it could be easily sold for a lot more than $60 then it would make sense to get the machine and sell it. The profit potential would need to be more like $...
