Re: Respironics dreamstation Bipap AutoSv software
I'm glad you got things working with OSCAR. As you noticed, the 1.0.1 release didn't really support the DreamStation autoSV very well, but we've made a lot of progress since then. Thanks Jas_williams, I get what you are saying, I think, but my prescription says Epap 6 to 9 (9 max), I agree that it m...

Re: Non-vented masks?
@Jas_williams, that's exactly right, this is for EERS. @brookfox, thanks for the tip regarding silicone putty (and the safety vent). The DME says they don't have a non-vented version of the Mirage Liberty. I don't know if that means I should use a different DME, or if my current mask won't work beca...

Non-vented masks?
Before anybody yells about the danger, this is what my doctor is prescribing after titrating for it in a sleep study. (It seems that I'm not getting REM sleep on my ASV, despite nice low AHI numbers.) Evidently it controlled my centrals while on CPAP, and I got REM sleep during the study. Does anybo...

Re: Is my AutoSV machine still available?
I'm in a similar boat and trying to figure out whether to buy a used one out of pocket from Second Wind ($1400 currently) vs. the new DreamStation (if insurance will let me replace it preemptively).
Does anybody know what changed between the System One and DreamStation series (other than cosmetics)?

Re: "labia flatulence" insomina... Any advice?
I ended up going with a hybrid mask (Mirage Liberty) for essentially the same reason. If I used nasal pillows, air would sometimes start escaping out my mouth. And I didn't like the pressure on the bridge of my nose from a FFM. Hybrids can be a bit tricky to fit, though, especially if you have an ov...

Re: what is the average lifespan of a machine
I was wondering this myself. My PR ASV is now just over 5 years old (14200 hours), and I was wondering when I should start working on a replacement through insurance. I really don't want to try to sleep without a functioning machine! Am I on borrowed time, or is it likely to keep chugging along? I t...

Re: ASV How can I solve this problem?
Pressing the ramp button *usually* does the trick for me, but sometimes its pace is so crazy that I have to turn the whole thing off and back on.
You may need to enable ramp, though.

Re: Cigna/CareCentrix Concerns
My employer's insurance changed to Cigna, and so I just had a very interesting interaction with CareCentrix: Originally when I called, they told me my old (and local and great!) DME was in-network. So, after considerable effort by my DME (CareCentrix repeatedly lost inbound faxes) they got ahold of ...

Re: ASV - Feedback on SH Data Please
Just saw your lament in another thread about not getting much feedback. I'm a fellow ASV user, but I'm not always around. Your graphs look fairly good. The one thing to work on is the leaking -- whenever your PS starts to go up, you start hitting large leak territory. But it's nothing catastrophic, ...

Re: BiPAP ASV - Different, but still not great results
I'm using a CMS50E . Could you post a zoom in of your best night during the desaturations? Especially 01:45-02:00 and 05:00-05:15? And add your pulse rate to the chart? At this zoom level I can't tell how long your CAs are or whether it's feasible that you'd desaturate that much during those events...

Re: Sleep ASV titration done on different maching
Um, you can't really have auto-stop on an ASV. The whole point of an ASV is to make you breathe when you stop breathing. If it stopped blowing when you stopped breathing, well, you wouldn't have an ASV.

Re: Help with New 960
So EPAP=4, IPAP=10. That's EPAPmin=4 and PSmin=6, since IPAP = EPAP + PS. Assuming that you're on ASV because of centrals or complex, they generally leave the max numbers wide open: Max pressure=25 EPAPmax=25-PSmin=19 PSmax=25-EPAPmin=21 But you might find those swings too aggressive and unnecessary...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 announced today. US availability 8/18/14
no clue why you tacked this on to a thread about the as10 Because Mark made some comments about likely serial communication on the AS10, and Mike70 was able to confirm that previous models already had serial communication. Apparently you could have too. As to what they communicate, at least on PRS1...

Re: Help with New 960
I don't know exactly what settings will cause other settings to reset due to limits, but what would help is if you could say: What do you want your actual EPAP and IPAP to be normally? Just that, no other conjecture or explanation -- those are clouding the issue and making it hard for me to figure o...
