Re: revisiting battery operation

OH my gosh. No way am I gonna try this. Congrats on making it work, but this is beyond my skill set. That said, do you have recommendations for a battery to purchase? I didn't do any research when they gave me my machine (only had it for a month now... didn't find this forum till after I got it), bu...

Re: 1 month and really struggling...............

Buckhorn - I feel your pain. This is one way where we are our own worst enemy. If I'm reading correctly, your dread of not going to sleep is going to make it that much more difficult, and I can most definitely relate. Somehow you have got to switch up your mindset. Maybe it is meds at least for awhi...

Re: Do mouth breathers have a harder time getting good results?

i am a mouth breather but have the nasal mask. At first it was difficult, but I believe I have mastered it. At first I felt like I was suffocating, especially when the pressure first started. I couldn't even cough for the first couple of weeks. Now, when awake, I can cough and even take a breath if ...

Re: Is it normal to want to give up wearing CPAP after 3 months

This is really one where the community can help, and newbies look to you all who have been through this for alot longer for guidance. I am I think 5 weeks into it, and have had nights of sleep, nights of waking up every hour, and pretty much everything in between. According to my machine (and the En...

Re: Free software for CPAP?

I use the EncoreBasic too. the only way I could download the data was to check the box that says something like "this needs to be returned to the original user." Then another thing. I thought there was only one page of data, but you have to check on the arrows to see additional pages of data (on the...

Re: 1 month and really struggling...............

i've been having the problem of focusing so much on my breathing with the CPAP that I can't fall asleep. It's a new world with the CPAP, and I for one was too aware of the noise of the breathing to let it go. What is helping lately is to listen to some relaxing music. It takes my mind away from my b...

Re: Can we trust our machine's data?

Goofproof - I agree. I just had my study a month and a half ago. Not about to have another for awhile (can't afford it even if they would do it). I am so new to this diagnosis. I had a honeymoon period for the first week that was amazing, and now every other day there is something new jerking me aro...

Re: Can we trust our machine's data?

good point. Since my DME just sent my data to my insurance company, I expect I have a few months before they are going to need proof that again that I am using it. Can't wait to get the Sleepyhead info to see if there is something else there that I can do to facilitate sleep. I am not sure what keep...

Re: Can we trust our machine's data?

Thank you! I did play with the machine today to see if it records cessation of breathing, and it does. I merely held my breath after an exhale a few times. The machine makes a certain tone after a few seconds. When I checked the recording, it recorded the incidents. I've just reset it (thanks to the...

Thanks for the feedback. I'll work on being able to download the Sleepyhead data this week, and figure this out.

Can we trust our machine's data?

I still haven't downloaded my sleepyhead data, mostly because I haven't gotten around to getting the interface I need to connect with my laptop. That said, my CPAP is registering 0% AHI. I don't know how that can be, since I wake up .... alot.... at night. Maybe every 1.5 hours. I don't necessarily ...

Re: Newbies thread - eaglett

This is a roller coaster. I have had some problems with the mask the past couple of nights, and I'm frustrated that I wake up at all at night. Last night I tightened the mask and was able to get back to sleep, but I'm still frustrated. The honeymoon feels over. I still have more energy during the da...

Musing about just how this has effected my life..

Now in my third week of CPAP use and getting much better sleep already, I have been wondering just how long I have had sleep apnea. I mean, what if I've had it for years and didn't know? How different would my life have been? Have you guys thought about this... of course you have. I'm sure there is ...
