Re: New Resmed 11 vs Dreamstation
Also the tank doesn’t seem to hold as much water and it runs out despite it being on the same humidity setting of 5. This statement doesn't make sense. There is no correlation between the humidity setting on a ResMed and on a Dreamstation. This is like saying there was more coke in my McDonalds cok...

Re: Descaling a water tank
If distilled water is used, no lime/scale will build up at all. Your choice. White vinegar is your friend when cleaning lime/scale from either your coffee maker or your CPAP water reservoir. A 50/50 mix is what's needed for the coffee maker, been doing this for years. White vinegar is both safe and ...

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis, I wish you the best of luck on this.
You're saying that for over two years you've been dealing with bad burning smells coming from your CPAP machine and you are just now getting around to questioning/doing something about it?

Never heard of such a thing.

Re: FDA petition to grant OTC status to CPAP machines
People come here because CPAP isn't working for them, or they have unanswered questions, otherwise they would be watching Netflix or golfing or whatever. If the medical-industrial complex was doing its job, this would be a quiet place. If only a small percentage of the people who have mismanaged sl...

Re: Taped mouth, pillows mask, power outage
Same thing happened to me a few nights ago. I don't tape my mouth, but I woke up not being able to get a good breath. Power was out about 5 hours, and I found out that my backup sump pump battery was shot. First time in years that I slept without my machine. I woke up cuz I was worried about...

Re: CPAP Class Action Lawsuit Settlement
I received another email yesterday from the Settlement Administrator. They're still waiting for me to supply them with my CPAP prescription numbers so that they can send me a refurbished machine. Even though I have already received two replacements, and I have also been paid for two machines...

Re: My son refuses to use his Cpap
There's no way that you're going to get a teen to use a CPAP machine if he doesn't want to use it, no way. Someone is going to have to explain the benefits of using the machine compared to not using it. If that can't get through to him, nothing will. As for you paying $800 for the machine? Did your ...

Re: CPAP Class Action Lawsuit Settlement
At some point in reading the fine print and disclaimers in the original settlement offer, it was stated that the payments for the Device Replacement Awards wouldn't start going out till all other awards have been paid. I'm not holding my breath for this one as I'm sure that the money will 'run out'...

Re: Recommendations for low-profile earmuffs/noise reduction sleep masks?
Hi all, New to the forum but long-term CPAP user (10+ years). I am also autistic and have been going through autistic burnout for over a year. This has exacerbated my sensory issues significantly and I am now finding that noise (and temperature) are having much more of an impact than they used to i...

Is the foam some sort of gasket or what?
"I followed the manufacturers instructions on cleaning exactly. It says to soak all pieces, including the elbow, and let air-dry."
What did you use to soak your stuff in?

I was, And in my time on the two apnea forums. I have seen that a majority have been sent home with 4-20 settings. Of course there are exceptions from exceptional Dr's. A great many of the treatment threads start off with some version of "I'm starving for air" "My AHI is low but can't get restful s...
