Same here, I just looked at the date from Janknitz last post and thought that the thread was current.

Re: They laughed at my machine
So today I went to a sleep doc for the first time in maybe 8 years, having moved to a new state. When opened my case to display the Respironics "brick," she laughed out loud! Later her assistant came in the examining room to say she couldn't read my SD card (SleepyHead reads it fine), and she also ...

Re: Setting an ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset for hose drying
A friend washed her hose and now can’t get all the moisture out. I remember there is a way to set up the ResMed to blow continuously to dry the hose, but I can’t remember how. Pugsy or anyone? I don't understand. I wash/soak my hose once per week and on the day that do this, Mondays, when I go to b...

Re: Water Resevoir Question
I've kept mine filled with distilled till it empties itself, then I just add more. Never an issue that I know of, in over 10 years of doing that. Also, when traveling, I use tap water, no issue with that either. I'm unclear whether distilled is meant to protect the machine, or us. How does your res...

Re: Water Resevoir Question
I use distilled water in my CPAP machine, per instructions. Because distilled water is free of contaminants, why is it necessary to dump it out each day and replace it with more distilled water? Can't you just leave it in and add more water up to the fill line? Alternatively, can you save the used ...

Re: Humidifier heating element heats up when water runs out
I don't know for sure but from an engineering standpoint it wouldn't make any sense to have the hot plate capable of reaching a temperature that could damage/melt/make stink the water reservoir. The designers would know that running out of water would be a common thing and the design would take that...

Re: My AirSense 11 is crazy thirsty
Hello, everyone. I recently upgraded my CPAP from a Philips Respironics System One (OLD) a ResMed AirSense 10, which I had for a short while and which was then exchanged for an AirSense 11. (To be honest, I kind of liked the AirSense 10 a little better then the 11, but that's another discussion.) B...

Re: new CPAP user night 22 .......runny nose HELP!!!
Every morning about 20 minutes after I unplug my mask I start sneezing, nose runs like a faucet and right upper eye lid is very puffy. I am talking EVERY morning all day long. My machine is the AirSense 10 with the humidifier. My pressure is set at 9, hose temp at 72 and humidity at 4. My nasal mas...

Re: Cleaning (AGAIN???)
I'm sure this topic has been done to death, so I just want to offer a technique I use that I never heard of anyone else mentioning: Once a week, instead of washing out the tubing with anti-bacterial scrub soap (as I did for quite a while), now I fill the tank about 1/3 full with isopropyl alcohol, ...

Re: Shingles Vaccine and mask sensitivity
How long has it been known that SoClean is dangerous? I started cpap in May 2009.....it was known then that SoClean was potentially dangerous/harmful to the human as well as the equipment. I started using a cpap in 2010 and while I never even thought about using a SoClean, I didn't know about the d...

What does the amount of time the OP has been using a cpap have to do with it?chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 11:03 pmTsk, using a cpap for TWENTY YEARS . . .
No chance to hear anything about the biggest scam in cpap history?

Yep, it was the NOclean! Some people never learn! You're right, some never do. Like your post above. Have you not leaned that it's not good practice to reply in such a way? Why put the OP on the defense RIGHT OFF THE BAT? Perhaps the OP has never heard of the bad things that SoClean can do to a mac...

Re: Shingles Vaccine and mask sensitivity
Just checking to see if anyone else has experienced what I am going through... Have had a CPAP for almost 20 years. Never any issues. I got the first of the two shingles vaccine shots and all of the sudden I wake up every morning with a red rash where my mask touches my face. Full mask shape red an...
