Re: Resmed Mirage Activa Replacement

The DME is telling the truth. The Activa has been removed from ResMed's website. It's still available on the cpap.com website, marked down to $69.00, although I suspect it's marked down because they're trying to clear their inventory. The Activa LT is very similar to the Activa. The main difference ...

The Activa cushion and the Activa LT cushion are different, but you can mix and match them. The Activa cushion does fit on the Activa LT frame.

Re: Resmed S8 - Software Resscan 3.7

The current version of ResScan works with the S8, but you will need to install the driver for the data card reader while or after installing ResScan. Just use Pugsy's link to get a copy of ResScan.

The power cord is easily replaceable. It's a standard cord with no power brick.

Re: Do I have to wait for another sleep study? Sick and tired!!

I forget....with a CPAP machine do you set the pressure levels or need the doctor to guide? Officially, a doctor needs to prescribe the pressure level. However, I lost my insurance and I had to do my own setup--it's not rocket science. You will need a fully data-capable machine, software to downloa...

I just deleted over 50 of his spam messages--while this thread was near the top of the list.

Edit: Now, we've got two of them posting at once.

Re: need DME for replacement control knob for S9 AutoSet

You could ask secondwindcpap.com if they have a spare knob. They deal with used CPAPs, so they may have an old, junk machine that they can steal a knob from.

Re: Stepping on hose and deforming it?

The System One heated hose has a plastic fitting that connects to the machine and is not watertight. This may be the leak that you're seeing. If the hose is filled with water, the fitting will leak slightly even if the hose is brand new. Try filling the hose with water except for the fittings on the ...

Re: Does anyone know how the Resmed myAir connection works?

The DME pays ResMed for service for the machine, and then ResMed pays one of the cellular carriers for service. I would imagine it uses a tiny amount of cellular data, or possibly text messages. You don't need to add it to your cellular plan

Re: What are some GREAT APAP set ups for below $500?

I use the Remstar System One 60 Series Auto and it works well for me. You can get it from cpap.com for $429 including humidifier and heated hose. The newer Dreamstation machines haven't changed much compared to the System One.

Re: Do you purchase two cpap and use one as a backup?

If you're going back to the same place every time, leaving a second machine there is a fantastic idea. You'll have one less thing to carry, and you won't risk losing or damaging while traveling. Having a backup machine is a great idea even if you don't travel. It's far easier than having to get a lo...

Re: Remstar Trial Mode - Thoughts?

I have two different editions of the clinician's manual for the 560. The one dated 12/1/2011 does not mention auto trial mode, but the one dated 5/25/2012 does. It does not have the 30 day limit over the life of the machine, but a single trial can go up to 30 days.
