I have been using the DreamStation 2 for a week. Getting the settings updated and learning how to use the device was simple. I am sleeping better and my numbers are better.
Did you get this machine as a replacement in Philips' Foamgate? Which machine were you using before this one?

Makes me wonder if AHI results are actually directly comparable.
The two brands' proprietary algorithms are different. They respond differently to changes in airway flow.

Re: Non-mouth breather suddenly has dry mouth with new APAP

my instinct is to not even bother messing around with the APAP settings to see if they work, at least until the CPAP mode doesn't work anymore. Is this a true case of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it?" The goal is to have restful sleep and energy the next day without excess sleepiness. You seem to...

I don't believe that I am biting my tongue because there is no bleeding.
I have bitten my tongue many times, and there was no bleeding.

It must be something else, like food, or maybe a nutrient deficiency or an allergy,
It's faddish to blame those things.

Larry's dentist recommended something to help keep his nostrils open and said, " I use it myself in addition to my cpap" .
This is a bit surprising. For me, the CPAP pressure keeps the nostrils (and the other parts of the airway) open. Maybe some have a different experience?

On a good day I can hike up a mountain for an hour without any problems. Not to ignore your RR, but could you be exercising too strenuously? Among light/moderate/strenuous, moderate is often best for restful sleep. How old are you? Do you consume caffeine? Take any drugs? Is your diet healthy? Has ...

Re: What is your biggest CPAP struggle?

what do you want to know more about? Everything I needed to know was found in this forum. The sleep doc wasn't much help except for doing the things that insurance requires for coverage. When she left town, I went to my GP to write prescriptions. He said he didn't know anything about CPAP. I said n...

Tongue/mouth sores may not have a clear-cut cause;
but the real question is how to relieve it.
I found that regular application of manuka honey helps.
No prescription, and tastes very nice.
Not cheap, but it is amazing stuff.
I'm skeptical. Plus, won't it rot teeth?

Re: Can CPAP cause tongue sores?

Ok, so it's not suction...is there another way that CPAP can cause tongue sores? Like positive pressure that causes one to bite on the tongue? Or pressure on the jaw that is so tight that the tongue is pinched between the upper and lower jaw? Also, what about in the open airway situation: where air...
