Re: AlaxoStent new Hybrid version: Anyone tried it?
I’m using the original version of the 6” stent. I got a replacement after 18 months of the first (and a broken strand), I guess just before their changeover. I don’t know if I’ll like trying the newer nose/throat combo when the time comes. I’m open to the idea, but because I have PAP pressure as wel...

Re: Recommended Pulse Oximeter
I’m using the O2Ring nightly since August of 2021. It can’t quite do two nights on a charge anymore (unless I hardly sleep each night), but it has no problems doing a nap and long night of sleep - so I just make it part of my morning routine to plug it in. It is so easy to wear and upload. I had a C...

Re: I’m using AlaxoStent with PAP therapy for Palatal Prolapse
but how are you sleeping? wake up feeling good? no headaches or body aches? getting a full night's rest? Hi Zonker, I don’t have headaches when I wake up. Those pretty much went away when I started CPAP a dozen years ago. For over 10 years plain CPAP was all I needed - until Palatal Prolapse develo...

Re: Are There Any Decent Travel CPAPs?
I don’t know your specific reason for sleep apnea, but if it relates to palate/throat restrictions when sleeping you might also look into the AlaxoStent. For the cost of a travel CPAP, it props open the airway from inside. It gets inserted through the nose before bed, and then taken out in the morni...

Re: I’m using AlaxoStent with PAP therapy for Palatal Prolapse
Update after one year of using the 6” AlaxoStent with my VAuto. I’m not signing in much anymore, since things are going perfectly. Here is a summary: First year results In the 30 days prior to my using the 6” AlaxoStent my machine scored 489 Obstructive Apneas, despite my 99.5% Flow limitation avera...

Re: Philips Attempting to Avoid Replacement of Recalled Older System One CPAPs
I just got the same email for my PRS1 450.
There is no way I’m sending back the decayed-foam machine until I know whether I have health issues related to the spewed bits and off-gassing. Not going to sell the evidence for $25.
I would not trust a replacement machine from them either.

Re: Anyone Sleep Through Power Outage
A recent power outage seemed to show it took me about a minute to wake, two more minutes of hard breathing and wondering why it seemed so hard, then awake enough to realize power was off. My O2Ring showed my SpO2 dipped a couple points for that time. I got my 12 adaptor hooked up to the small (wheel...

Re: Eclipse Mask intro video in Less Than an Hour
I got to see the video. At first I tried it on the main page banner, but then it swiped away. Next time I went to the link on the Eclipse, and could watch the video there. The teaser is more than enough for me to have clicked the email link to see about pre-ordering. I’ve got plenty of dreamports on...

Re: I’m using AlaxoStent with PAP therapy for Palatal Prolapse
I find that the Bleep dream ports help hold the stent tail in place, I still use a piece of tape on the tail, usually away from where the Bleep Dreamport attaches. I do have to push a little more carefully when adhering the Dreamport, so that there isn't seepage around the AlaxoStent tail. I've also...

Re: I’m using AlaxoStent with PAP therapy for Palatal Prolapse
Just a quick update: In the past four months of AlaxoStent use I have had no side effects or issues (other than getting used to it the first days). It continues to work wonderfully in combination with my bilevel therapy at reduced pressure (minimum 4cm EPAP, the VAuto mode won’t go lower than that, ...

Re: Is an AHI of 2 a more realistic target to actually get rest
I agree with the above that it is more quality of sleep, rather than chasing a number. I say this even though (or indeed because) I chase zeros, and have been under 1 AHI for a majority of the 11 years I’ve been on PAP, and I’ve complained to my doctor when my CPAP therapy wasn’t cutting it anymore ...

Re: CMSD50+ Oximeter and OSCAR problem!!!
Old thread. Very soon after I wrote this I went ahead and bought an O2Ring. It works well, and is much more comfortable. I’ve worn it nightly since I bought it. I could never stand using the CMSD50+ for more than a few nights, at most. Now the CMSD50+ is just used for spot checks of my SpO2 or pulse...

Re: Need help with Bleep attachment
New Bleep masks can be tougher to click together. Try a used Dreamport, with the mask and the Dreamport in your hand, and just give it lots of tries, connecting and disconnecting. It might loosen it up. I don’t bother having the ports perfect. I suppose there are some nights my nose is being tugged ...

Which CPAP Supplier Should I use with insurance?
Hi all, I've hit my deductible for insurance. That's rare, so I'd like to get my CPAP supplies paid-for rather than me continuing to pay out of pocket this year. I use a Bleep mask, and ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto. I also usually have a Swift FX or AirFit P10 on hand. I figure the ResMed masks and humi...
