Sorry, I wasn't very clear about why I wrote this post. Of course humidity is a comfort feature; some don't need it, some can't live without it.
The point I meant to make was that the unit apparently seems to run well WITHOUT THE HUMIDIFER CHAMBER in the humidifier unit.

I use both a PRS1 and a S9. I never noticed a FOT using the S9.
However with the PRS1 occasionally when I am about to fall asleep I feel a relatively strong blast of air -- is this how the FOT feels on the S9?
