Re: What is your biggest CPAP struggle?

Been here a little less than the Pugs. The mask struggle.... hands down. For last several years I have ben trying to adjust to wearing a full face face mask. I'm not a good candidate for this mask. I'll go great for a couple months, then my bridge of nose will start to hurt. I've found the Resmed F2...

Re: Can Sleep Apnea effect my Weight Loss?

I lost a lot of weight after being on cpap therapy. But you have to be on the cpap machine a while. For me, it was a gradual thing. I buy into the more energy thing, but it could also be that getting proper sleep helps restore body. Sleep apnea interrupts your sleep and messes with your organs... th...

You'll be alright. As was previously stated, it relaxes you, not put you to sleep. The medical field has come a long way. nowadays they give you some good tunes.... play some ZZ Top... and plaster some relaxing scenes to look at. Hopefully they'll play "Cheap Sunglasses!

Re: Sleeping with my CPAP

Congrats! I vagally remember when I finally slept with my mask on. You need to build on it and your goal should be all night. Your body is fighting you back, but it will eventually give in and you'll be able to sleep all night! Keep it up! You got this!

Re: Mask alternative

The place where you picked up the equipment should have told you how to operate the machine and to properly wear the mask. Anyway, you can look up on youtube and get most of the info you need. Remember... tho' it may look like a computer, it's basically an air pump. There are so many types of masks....

I have most of my apneas in the morning too. I'll wake up, look at the clock, go back asleep.... then boom... here they come. Just make sure you are hooked up to the machine and let it do it's thang.

Re: Replacement or New Machines

My DME said that because of Phillips recall, there is a run on Resmed machines.... so there is a shortage there. It's like the toilet paper thang during covid. I recond we are going to have to wait it out.

Re: Bed Pillows That Work With Your Mask?

I'm like kteague. I've use a foam cpap pillow designed for cpap users. You can go to cpap.com and see the different types. The one I use is the Contour pillow, but they have changed the design. My cover's zipper is broke, so I got a hankering to get a new one. The cpap pillow has cut outs so when yo...

Re: New member from Canada

Dang! You can get that much money for helping people? I know Canadian money has a different exchange rate. Did I say dang!? Anyway. The way it usually works is that a new person just starting gets very little instruction and maybe wrong advise from the place that sells you the equipment... did I say...

Re: 6-7 Hours of sleep enough??

As was said, all people are different. When I started cpap therapy. And I found that even with less sleep, I felt better. I eventually knew what time to hit the hay to function adequately. Still, I know that I can manage less sleep better when using cpap therapy. Once proper cpap therapy sets in, se...

Re: Need help with Apria charge…

I dealt with Crapia for over 10 years. I went on Medicare last spring and I finally signed up with Aeroflow recently thanks to the recommendation here. I found if you call Crapia back and speak to someone else, you may hear what you want to hear.

Re: Any idea why my AHI higher on this day?

I suppose You have already asked yourself "what did I do different" that day? Maybe a bad day, too much to drink, stress, a bad event, ate too much.... it can be anything. I normally average a .5 - .7 each night. Maybe once every two or three months, I will get an night with an AHI of a two or so. W...
