Re: Terrible Velcro On Philips Nuance Gel Pillow Mask Driving Me Nuts

I believe the flimsy headgear was why I quit that stupid mask. It was easier to switch masks than make my own headgear. Things have changed. Of course, now I have been making my own beanies and headcovers, because Medicare will not cover even the tiniest share of the outrageous prices the commercial...

Re: What is your biggest CPAP struggle?

We do it out of our love and respect for our fellow apnea sufferers. Experience with a horrible system has taught us that in most cases, this process is "do it yourself"--out of necessity. I suspect the "good" doctor was hoping for an "easy button", and is not likely to return. Or offer thanks . . .

Re: obtaining cpap rx from Kaiser

Good luck.
The Kaiser reluctance sounds ILLEGAL.
Talk to Medicare about their trying to push you into working with Apria.
Raise a fuss. It is your RIGHT TO FIGHT.

If you need it now, you better already have it.

Re: Anyone in DFW area find a DME with Airsense 11?

Since Resmed is still making new Airsense 10 machines,
the Autoset and Autoset for her are excellent instruments.
The supply and demand mess is not likely to end soon.
Waiting to treat your apnea is unhealthy--and could put you in a box.

For dirty dealers, this one takes the cake!
Could they be part of a national chain?
Like lindon'tcare, or crapria?

Re: OT: Super Froggy--cancer, part 2

Saw the doc before my chemo today. I have a PET scan in two weeks, or so (Nov. 1st) Doc has been saying a round of radiation would save me a month of chemo. Looking at side effects of radiation, vs how well I have been tolerating chemo . . . (Knock on wood) If needed, I may opt for more chemo instea...

Re: Inventory issues?

Everyone should have a "backup" machine, but insurance will only pay on ONE machine. If it were me, I would order an Airsense 11 Autoset from our forum sponsors. This would be your primary machine, for the time being. When the DME's "supply problems" clear up, you can demand the same model-- regardl...

Knowing what we know about both companies, it could be little more than
second rate engineering in the respironics--meaning both treatment and reporting.

Re: Philips corporate ploy

I really need to stop patting myself on the back for never getting a Respironics machine.
It is beginning to make me feel a tiny bit dirty.
Instead of washing my hands, I will just use another squirt of sanitizer.
