Re: diagnosed with sleep apnea, need some advice

Being on CPAP is not as bad as it seems up front. There are way worse treatments for way worse conditions. All we have to do is slip on a damn mask at bedtime for a great night's sleep. Considering the bullfrog's warped sense of humor, I am grateful that cpap renders me almost completely immune to ...

Re: CPAP Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

I have difficulty believing that the sound from a cpap could cause hearing damage.
Of course, I have only used Resmed machines . . .
A former colleague had severe hearing loss from being a DRUMMER.
Nowhere near the volume emitted by any cpap.
Come on folks!! Let's be real.

Yeah, sometimes the bad wheel squeaks or wobbles as a warning.
Sometimes it just drops off!

Re: Reason for Vent Holes?

I have never had that problem.
If it were not for the moisture, venting the warm air
under the covers might be nice.
But----moisture! Eeeeeew!

The only satisfactory settlement is to avoid that company entirely.
Sorry they got you twice!

Re: Reason for Vent Holes?

I am amazed by the amount of science and mathematics that are utilized
by mask engineers to determine the size and placement of vent holes.
Moreover, I am impressed by the creativity of the ResMed crew in
designing the nearly soundless mesh vents on my p10.

Using my cpap HELPS with anxiety.
Keep on plugging away until yours helps, too.

Going on the little info you offer, I would refuse any philips respironics machine.
Insist on Resmed--not "res-something else".

I would not totally discount "confusion" on their part.
Whatever they like to call it!
I would also see if you have any alternative to Lincare,
because their reputation is anemic, at best.

And no to the ones trying to scam compliance hours this method will not work for getting your minimum hours in ...
How does that work, really?
Especially if the cpap is a BRICK?
The usage hours odometer still merrily rolls along.

Re: alternating masks

I alternated for a good portion of the first year.
Eventually, I was able to find masks that fit better without pain.
I have used the p10 for several years now.
