Re: doc seems stubborn to prescribe bipap arg

It sounds like you are a "mouth leaker" as part of your problem, i.e. you are not really a mouth breather, but you release excess air/CO2 through the mouth when it builds up over time. I had a similar problem that gradually went away. Just trying to live with it, adapt to it, and consciously avoid i...

Re: Months since I cleaned my mask?

Washing the headgear can be important, too. Bacteria builds up that can rub against the skin, especially where there is hair. Don't want to get zitty!
Depends on individual needs/symptoms/preference, of course.

Re: I forgot my mask on my trip

As a frequent traveler for work, I bought a second machine and mask that I keep in my suitcase at all times, ready for the road (or air travel, as the case may be). Before I made that purchase, packing was a chore and since I always forget something when packing, I wanted to make sure it was an item...

Re: burning inside nose with pillows

Uncle Matt, I didn't see a humidifier listed for you. I am guessing the lack of humidifier is the problem. I can't use nasal pillows without one, as I think is the case for most of us. In fact, I need the humidifier on a high setting for nasal pillows, but don't need a humidifier at all for a full f...

Re: Swift LT for her to Mirage Liberty?

Chester11, nice video, but I didn't see anything there that I didn't already know. Despite the flaw fit for my personal need, this has been the best mask for me. I guess I will have to continue with the safety pin. Will order a new one soon, but the large size this time and see if that works withou...

Re: travel machines

Since I travel a lot for my work, I like to keep my second machine right in my suitcase along with all the other stuff that I never take out except at the hotel. It makes packing so much easier. My home machine is huge, so there are a lot of machines out there that are not all that convenient for tr...

Re: When Size Does Matter

Congratulations on your weight loss and success with osa. A correlation between osa and being overweight is frequently mentioned, but which came first. Even though I am in the so-called "normal" weight range ( I could stand to lose 25 lbs, but my MD says I don't), I sense that obesity is a side effe...

Re: Swift LT for her to Mirage Liberty?

Maybe to clarify even more... If you look at the headgear from the back, you can see that it is kind of shaped like an O, with the top of the O going over the head and the bottom going around the neck. Now, look at it from the side. Here you see the upper and lower velcro straps. No problem with the...

Re: Swift LT for her to Mirage Liberty?

Maybe I have an older model, but there is no velcro on the strap that goes across the top of my head. Is there one on yours? My headgear has connections to the mask in four locations. There is velcro on each of these, but these kind of connect into a circle where it goes behind the neck one way and ...

Re: Mirage Liberty - Leaks & ladies tights

I use the Liberty and had the same trouble with leaks around the nasal pillows. Ever notice that the designer forgot to put velcro on the strap that goes across the top of your head? Pretty dumb, I would say. My solution was to tighten up that strap with a safety pin. Works like a charm. The Liberty...

Re: Swift LT for her to Mirage Liberty?

I have tried the Hybrid. Didn't quite fit for my jaw even with something like 9 combinations of mask/pillows. I liked the Swift LT, but got too much dryness and am not a fan of the extra added hassle of a humidifier. They can stay in my storage drawer forever! Then I tried the Liberty. It didn't fit...

Re: Sores from mask

This is a pretty big issue in the cpap community! I had the same problem with the mask you list, as well as with many others. The Quattro has a dialer on the piece that presses against the forehead to help control this problem. It is a full face mask instead of the nasal mask you have. Other remedie...

Re: Air from mask iritating eyes!!!

The whole idea behind cpap is to improve your sleep. If your cpap is ruining your husband's sleep, neither of you is meeting your nightly goal. Give hubby a break; he needs his sleep, too. Do these other members really want you to trade your sleep for his? I would try a different mask. I found the n...

I mostly buy from my hmo. I pay 20%. When they won't cover, I go to cpap.com. I have looked at other online sites but have only purchased at cpap.com.

Re: Obamacare Will Pay for Prayer

What does a prayer session cost anyway?
Seems this shouldn't induce more than a dollar or two per session, I would think.
