Re: First night with Hybrid

I am one of those hybrid users who leaves the flap on. I tried cutting it off and the mask moved all over my face. The chin flap seems to help anchor the mask in place for me and I get less leaks that way. It also seems to work sort of as a chin strap for me too and holds my jaw in place. If you are...

Re: Hybrids not being made anymore?

Phew! Thanks Rooster! I WAS IN A PANIC! The Hybrid is the only mask that I have been able to get to work. When the DME told me this, I said "that's funny, I haven't heard anything on the CPAP boards about this". And the DME said, "what CPAP boards?" I think you are right--my DME just doesn't know wh...

Re: Hybrid Universal & Mirage Liberty Masks

actually I find that the chin flap stabilizes the mask for me AND keeps my jaw from dropping.

Hybrids not being made anymore?

My DME just told me that the company that makes the hybrid mask is going out of business and that they aren't going to be able to get the hybrid mask for me anymore.
Does anyone know anything about this?

I used Peggy's pattern to make a PillowPal last weekend and I've used it every night since. I think it's great! I've tried just about every kind of pillow (some really pricey) and have not been happy with any of them. But the little PillowPal just placed on top of an ordinary pillow works really wel...

I bought that CPAP pillow from Contour Living and I didn't like it.
Although the idea is good, the pillow is so thin that whenever I used it my shoulder hurt. I wouldn't recommend it.

shingles

I had a nasty bout of shingles about 10 years ago. I had the rash, the nerve pain the whole nine yards. I had it on my right back side. I felt like I had been punched there! I got on the antivirals as soon as I figured out what was going on. I also used some kind of OTC topical gel that contained ca...

aerophagia

Bipap helped my aerophagia. I was on autopap (ResMed S8 Vantage) for about 8 months and once I got my mouth leaks under control by using the Hybrid, I started getting aerophagia. I first tried dropping my pressure which helped a little. Then I went to Bipap. I still have some aerophagia but it's way...

catbirdgirl- My sympathies! I have a cold now too. The first night (Monday nite) was really bad. It was hard to breath but I have a hybrid and so I can breath through my mouth if I need. I rinse my nose out with saline every night and I've kept it up during the cold. I think it helps me. I did have ...

I like the hybrid too and have been using it exclusively since it first came out. It completely eliminated my mouth leaking problem. I use the chin flap because it holds the mask in place. I tried cutting the chin flap off and then the mask wandered all over my face. I cut a piece of cheesecloth to ...

once I unhook from the machine and push the "off" button in the morning, I don't unplug the machine for at least 15 minutes.
No idea why this should help. Maybe it's the anti-jinx dance that I do at the same time.

Note that I got this pillow from:
http://www.contourliving.com/pc-71-2-cp ... p-aid.aspx
It costs $59.99 there. The website advertising the pillow earlier in this thread charges $10 more.
