Your expectation is too short a time period if very high BP or severe category. Took 18 months of slow improvement before I was able to ditch the BP drugs.

Re: ResMed AirSense 11 - A sneak peak

Wasn’t the for her setting exclusive to the s10? If memory serves, the 'for her' algorithm was only in effect for pressures <10. I can't remember if it exists in the S9; the ugly pink makes me think it is but my range starts at 9.8 so I paid little attention to the 'for her' info, although I bought...

Naturally, they are sitting on it.
They probably caught hell from DMEs who could not move S9s
because all the silly patients demanded Airsense 10s.
Gotta empty those warehouses!
I would gladly buy one or two unused S9s depending on the price.

Long thread and I may have missed it but what’s the size of the 11 and when will it be available for Canadians?
This post early on lists serial #s with Canadian tags suggesting same release date as USA. Also says same footprint as the S10. Then says this is a student engineering project.

Re: Who Keeps A Backup CPAP Machine?

I have all the machines I've used, all ResMeds, Escape CPAP (brick now my hose dryer), S8, two S9s. Several RespCare Hybrid masks with spare cushions and pillows, extra hoses. Time to run my spares to ensure all function properly.

Me too! No creamer, must avoid calcium & magnesium for 4 hours before or after, so my first cup is black.

Re: Hypothyroidism

Low levels of thyroid causes a high Thyroid Stimulating Hormone level. Thus can create what's called "air hunger".

Re: Type 2 Diabetes and Sleep Apnea

At least 10 years and 3 docs before someone found very high blood pressure then asked about my sleep, sent me to a sleep doc. Got a sleep study, then equipment. Sleep doc said to wait a year before changing anything as my blood was like a chemical stew and could take that long for it to be straighte...

My overnight AHI quadruples when I sleep on my back! So I go to sleep on my side and wake up, it seems to me, in the same position and stiff as a board

Re: Anyone using a sleep oximeter?

Back in pre-Oscar days when we had a local group of this group's members, we shared an oximeter. We used it to ensure therapy was optimal. One member used it along with another member's different APAP brand and finally found resolution for his poor numbers. The group was great about helping each oth...

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?

Moderna has been blamed for more severe side effects--2nd dose, mostly. The volume injected is suspected. Many flu vaccine side effects are possibly due to PRESERVATIVES. Some preservatives contain iodine, a known irritant. Some eye drops make my eyes burn--due to the preservative used. Yeah, ALL o...

Re: Dementia & Memory Problems

...most recently a sleep study... John, I am so sorry. My sleep study in 2007 had another 'patient' a man with dementia. My sleep doc, who ran the sleep lab, said sleep apnea can mimic dementia because highly-fragmented sleep prevents deep, restful sleep with its 'brain washing.' During that deep p...

Try boiling the silicone parts in distilled water with 1 teaspoon baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) for a few minutes.

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?

Not yet, holding out for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. I had a bad reaction to my last vaccine 11 years ago with fevers coming and going for 3 weeks post. J&J's is not an mRNA vaccine (first of its type) so I am hoping I won't have a repeat reaction. While I might get covid, this vaccine has been s...
