Re: Waking Up to Pee once a night

When you wake up is your bladder painfully full so you need to go pee or is it more of a wake up where you say to yourself I might as well go pee? There's nothing really exciting pointing to sub optimal therapy that I can see on this report. It's normal to wake a few times each night even without OS...

Re: Medicare coverage for Sleep Medicine

Medicare does indeed cover cpap/apap machines as well as masks. It is NOT part D though....part D is prescription drug coverage. Instead the machines and masks are covered under part B coverage. There are some limitations and criteria that need to be met but I have been on cpap for over 15 years now...

Re: Help Finding a Nasal Pillow Mask

is a 7-10 range of pressure too small. In other words do I need to open the top end or leave it alone? Having a higher maximum setting really isn't that critical unless you look at the software reports and see that you are consistently hitting that max setting of 10. Just because a machine can go h...

Re: CPAP DESTROYED MY LIFE

My breathing is no longer stable after using the APAP, as you can see the difference in the two pictures I cannot imagine that one night on apap is the cause of the problem but regardless....there's nothing we can offer that can fix a problem with centrals and if it was the apap then it happened ma...

I could not have imagined that you could get TECSA after stopping its use. It doesn't make sense to get it from just one night of use.
I can't imagine it either. It makes zero sense.
What caused you to try the APAP?

Re: CPAP DESTROYED MY LIFE

You need to have a chat with the doctor who ordered/did the sleep study in the lab. I am sorry but treating anything that is central in nature is quite complicated and requires a very special machine. If you aren't having enough centrals to earn the official diagnosis you won't get your insurance to...

Re: Am I recycling exhaled air with P10 pillow?

How do I know if that sensation is from breathing warm moist air from the heated tube? Or if it's from my own exhalation? I can tell you that the warm moist air is from the heated hose...it is but you won't believe me. Why wouldn't there be a CO2 sensor placed in the machine just as a safety measur...

Re: Help Finding a Nasal Pillow Mask

Your current settings could be playing a part in your issues. Using ramp means you start at 4 cm and stay there and it take 40 minutes to ramp up to 5 cm minimum pressure. EPR is essentially not doing anything to help you exhale because even when set to 3 cm it can only drop to 4 cm (1 cm drop which...

Re: Help Finding a Nasal Pillow Mask

Is your problem exhaling happening at the beginning of the night while you are still awake or later in the middle of the night after you have been asleep for a while?

I assume you aren't using the ramp????

Re: Help Finding a Nasal Pillow Mask

What are your pressure settings?
Are you using any exhale relief (EPR on a ResMed machine) and if you are...at what setting?

Take a look at the F & P Nova Micro nasal pillow mask.

Re: filter side for my Airsense 11

It depends on the type of filter.

Generally the "fuzzy" side (if there is one) goes facing outwards.
If you can't really tell if one side is fuzzier than the other then it doesn't really matter.

Re: New to Cpap and sleep apnea

Maybe it is time to talk to the doctor about adding in some sort of RX or OTC sleep aid. 4 to 6 hours of very fragmented sleep is a recipe for feeling like crap for sure. Hell, 4 to 6 hours of not fragmented sleep isn't enough sleep. I have that sleep problem now but even though I know the cause (no...
