Re: Let's play a game and maybe learn something while playing
1) Do OAs ever get misflagged as CAs? I've seen what I thought were CAs being flagged as OAs in my own flow charts, but never the reverse (but then I don't always look at every CA). Moreover, I haven't seen much commentary on this possibility. Is it unlikely that an OA would be misflagged as a CA? ...

Re: Let's play a game and maybe learn something while playing
So....I wasn't asleep at all during that first session I zoomed in on. Totally awake and no where near asleep. I am 100% certain I never fell asleep. I know it looks like asleep breathing but that was just me making a concerted effort to breathe nice and slow and even. The OAs were my attempt to see...

Answer at 9 PM CST. Give you all a little more time to take the quiz.
Don't be shy....
another hint....the machine is easily fooled and it will likely surprise you how much it got fooled.

Let's play a game and maybe learn something while playing
So...here's the game. Tell me if you think I was asleep or awake when the grouping of OAs got flagged at the beginning of the night. Tell me why you think whatever it is that you think. I included the main overview as well as a zoomed in section. http://i.imgur.com/yrd89hll.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xH...

Re: Item 1: weight gain Item 2: eyeglasses
I didn't gain any weight when I started cpap....in fact I lost some weight. I don't ever read in bed but if I did there are several masks available that wouldn't interfere with eye glasses. Just about anything that fits under the nose, and not on the nasal bridge area, will work. The Eclipse that I ...

Re: Airsense 10 is 8 years old, keep using it?
To be fair the 208 price was a mistake. Somehow or other the promo code was applied to another sale price and it shouldn't have been stacked promo codes. So the 208 only lasted one day until the mistake was found out and the 208 was no longer available. Still yet...the 399 price is/was a very fair p...

Re: Newly Diagnosed, Check My Oscar
Thanks. That worked quite well. IMHO the bulk of your CA/central flags are post arousal and not asleep centrals. Some of the OAs as well seem to be post arousal. I don't see the arousals being related to airway flow reductions though. Seems like you are asleep and then have some sort of spontaneous ...

Re: Newly Diagnosed, Check My Oscar
Do you know how to use SleepHQ? Using it would let us zoom in on those centrals/CAs and see if they are maybe the cause of the tossing and turning (arousals) or if they are the result of the arousal happening. Those centrals could be a symptom of poor sleep quality but not necessarily the cause of t...

Re: anxiety, learning to tolerate CPAP
I saw very tiny water droplets inside the mask. Is that rainout? I never quite got what that meant. Is it any condensation in the mask? Or is some normal and it's only rainout when it reaches your face? Yes..that's rain out. Condensation in the mask or hose is considered rain out even if it doesn't...

Re: New user introduction
other discomforts like a tender shoulder or achy lower back from lying in a weird position for too long and that causes me to toss and turn until the alarm goes off at 5:30. While probably minor issue...any discomfort that messes with sleep is a potential factor in overall sleep quality declining. ...

Re: anxiety, learning to tolerate CPAP
Will OSCAR show me how much I really sleep? To be clear about what OSCAR reports and what it doesn't report and what it simply can't report. First of all OSCAR can only show you the data that the machine can and does gather and report. Your machine has zero way to know if you are asleep or not so O...
