Re: obtaining cpap rx from Kaiser

Kaiser's Medicare is a type of Medicare Advantage plan.....I think They very well could try to push Apria...like a HMO thing. Remember Kaiser is an HMO and they often set their own rules and regulations BUT....if a patient requests copies of their records and the RX is part of the records....by law ...

Re: What is your biggest CPAP struggle?

Hey guys and gals. People can still read the posts here without logging in. People do it all the time. To assume that someone hasn't been back here to read stuff just because the log in thing doesn't reflect a more recent log in is perhaps an error in assumptions. Of course the polite thing to do wo...

Re: ClimateLine heated hose issues with AirCurve 10 Vauto

Is there anyway to use a larger diameter hose w the Vauto? I dislike that the climate line is the slimmer diameter and it's far less flexible than the heated tube on a Respironics for example. You can use a larger diameter non heated hose if you wish. Typically they aren't particularly flexible tho...

Re: pressure difference with new mask?

See if this helps. You are making more work for yourself. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t158560/How-to-post-images-for-review.html As for understanding all the data you see....most of it really isn't all that important because there's a very wide range of "normals" and you fall right in the midd...

Re: Terrible Velcro On Philips Nuance Gel Pillow Mask Driving Me Nuts

Common complaint with that mask (or really any mask that uses much velcro) is the velcro gets tired. With the Nuance mask itself though it appears that things in general don't hold up well. You might look at the Nuance Pro gel mask if you haven't already as it has some extra silicone on the sides th...

Re: ClimateLine heated hose issues with AirCurve 10 Vauto

It's always possible that some sort of electrical failure can happen with these heated hoses but most of the time what we think is failure is actually from a combination of factors. 1....60 degrees ambient temp is going to be rough for the 86 degrees hose air temp to prevent condensation especially ...

Re: YEA My First Oscar submission

not to get caught up in thinking that there is some type of competition to see who can get the lowest score. Or maybe that is just a personality flaw that I have, lol. Not a personality flaw at all. Just human nature in general. We target numbers or pretty graphs as "proof" we are doing the best we...

Re: ClimateLine heated hose issues with AirCurve 10 Vauto

Which mask are you using? What is the ambient temperature in your bedroom with the window open? Approx? What is your humidity setting? Take the hose off the machine and drain it thoroughly. Put it aside for now. It needs to air dry thoroughly and that's hard to accomplish unless you blow some air th...

Re: Resvent ibreeze

BTW.....they might try to tell you that your sleep center doctor "prescribed" the machine but it is EXTREMELY rare for any doctor to specify a brand. Usually prescriptions are worded generically... like "cpap with heated humidifier and/or heated hose"..that sort of thing unless someone is getting a ...

Re: Anyone in DFW area find a DME with Airsense 11?

Did you mean would file your insurance for you and not ask you to pay for it up front? All the online DMEs will take prescriptions but not so many of them will work in network with your insurance. And from the last I saw....not many of the online DMEs even have the AirSense 11...and the couple I saw...

Re: Resvent ibreeze

I wouldn't accept it myself.
It's not compatible with OSCAR for one thing.
Another thing it isn't what you told them you want.

Call up your insurance company and ask for a list of DMEs in your area that are in your network...and then start calling to see if anyone has what you want.

Re: pressure response on Airsense 11

I believe that the Deamstation makes no attempt at evaluating the shape of the flow rate v. time curve so doesn't produce a flow limitation "grade" that is used to incrementally increase the pressure. Am I correct in that understanding ???? Respironics machines have always done something with the F...

Re: pressure response on Airsense 11

I'd classify this as a flow limtation example, and in fact Resmed classifies it that way as well (because their/my flow limitation graph increases and initiates an incremental increase in pressure. But here's the thing: I am sitting fully upright in a chair, fully awake and have no sense of distres...

Re: Anyone in DFW area find a DME with Airsense 11?

Palerider has never bought anything from any brick and mortar DME that I am aware of. Totally done all his therapy on his own. I don't think he has any on speed dial.  Besides even if he did and someone wanted to use insurance there's no guarantee that the DME would be in network anyway. ...
