Re: Exhale pressure versus Hypopneas

Respironics machines have never given an exact measurement of any event duration. They simply don't record that data point. Now there is a "marker" system that will end up giving us a close approximation of event duration but it isn't perfect. If you open OSCAR and click on the EVENTS tab you will s...

Re: Therapy Consistency

Miss E asked for the Overview page....not the statistics page.
Click on "Overview" tab in OSCAR...then go down to the lower left corner and set the date parameters she suggested.

Re: pressure response on Airsense 11

ResMed has never really explained in much detail the whole flow limitation thing. So I can't answer your questions. Sorry. About all I have is this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gie2dhqP2c In general snores and Flow Limitations are considered early signs of an impending airway collapse and...

Re: What is your biggest CPAP struggle?

CPAP veteran here of 12 plus years. I have forgotten most of my struggles because I sorted them out fairly easily. I was one of the lucky ones. Took to cpap like a duck to water. But I would like to mention one thing.....actually take time to listen to your patients and what they are actually saying...

Re: pressure response on Airsense 11

Most likely responding to snores and flow limitations.
Since you didn't include the other graphs...a guess but an educated guess.

Need to see the big picture....it usually offers more answers.

What graphs should I have up on OSCAR for posting on this forum?
Take a look here. Start with the basics.

No....No... No and No.
CPAP usage isn't the cause.

Look elsewhere.

Re: Fellow Aussies - Philips Dreamstation refund

Aussies are famous for bragging about their great consumer protection laws, while complaining about how much more expensive goods are. Yep. Case in point as to why so many Aussies end up ordering cpap machines from the US. Nothing in life is ever free....we all pay for everything we get in on...

ATTENTION: Stay on topic and the topic isn't the promotion of anti vaccination bullshit in case anyone is wondering. Believe whatever misinformation you want to believe but keep it to yourself. Take that sort of talk elsewhere. It's not welcome here. Getting the vaccine does NOT void someone's insur...

Re: Non-mouth breather suddenly has dry mouth with new APAP

In this situation....S9 to AirSense ...not changing brands. I didn't understand if the 7.2 on the S9 was fixed or not but if it had been me and going to auto from fixed (and staying in same brand) I wouldn't be hard nosed about the "one change at a time" thing. Without seeing what all the 7.2 result...

More humidity can also reduce congestion. Setting of 4 is very middle of the road. If a hot steamy shower helps her breathe better for a little while....then if wanting to experiment I would increase humidity a bit as first experiment. My nose is happiest with max humidity. Julie doesn't seem to nee...

Are you sure Respiratory Index???
Is it maybe RI and someone assumed Respiratory Index??

ResMed's ApneaLink home sleep study reports do use RI term but it is Risk Indicator.

Re: Phantom? Chemical Smell

I know the odds are slim but I would get a Covid taste just as a precaution. Weird sense of smell or loss of and/or taste....symptoms of Covid. That said there are other health conditions that mess with the sense of smell and we all know that smell and taste are intertwined and if this continues I w...
