Re: Neck pain/stiffness

You're all probably right, but on the off chance there are other cervical issues, I'd check with my doctor.

Re: Phlegm in throat can't sleep

Google "globus hystericus" and see if it fits - fairly common - which is not to say you have it, but look into it along with other things.

Re: obtaining cpap rx from Kaiser

Unless your MD has a deal with Medicare (or Crapria), I would think he has to give you a script... but officially, any NP, dentist, plus others I don't know (others in US will) can do it for you if you can tell them what you need and they agree to do it... Get a Resmed Airsense 10 Auto - it's compat...

You might want to ask Palerider, who lives there.

Re: Waking Frequently

We all adjust our settings routinely, ignoring MD's and techs who say they are 'locked'. That's nonsense.

Re: Waking Frequently

Curious why your max pressure is only at 9, rather than quite a bit higher, e.g. 20, which is more usual and now potentially could keep the min. pressure (the one that can intercept apneas) from rising as it might need to.

Re: Therapy Consistency

Look at the links in the stickies (top of the pg), and see how Oscar should be layed out, what's included and what shouldn't be, and then post results here for experts to help you interpret.

Re: CPAP usage restrictions in Hospital

Experimental? Two yrs ago very, very many people (older yes, but being together in long term care homes aggravated that horribly) died of Covid, but now that hundreds of thousands/millions have been vacc'd that's no longer the case and the vast majority of new cases are from unvacc'd people. You may...

More humidity can cause or aggravate congestion - don't know enough about her to judge this of course, but something to keep in mind.

Re: Non-mouth breather suddenly has dry mouth with new APAP

Can't imagine who you talked to at Cpap.com - possibly she didn't understand, but the usual thing to do is raise the lower pressure (4 is almost impossible for most to breathe at) to e.g. 6 or 7 and keep the upper one at 20 and see how you do after a few nights. You haven't said if you used the humi...

Re: Advice before I buy a CPAP

There are experts in Oscar here and they will help you interpret things and suggest any changes that might be needed. Forget the doctors (and I spent my life working for them in teaching hospitals) because so few seem to know anything much about apnea, let alone Cpap and... forget Oscar.
