Re: DEEP/REM sleep pattern with cpap

Oscar, not Fitbit - one's a relative gimmick compared to the other that's the best available. And Airsense 11 what?

If you want good answers, we need good info.

Re: DEEP/REM sleep pattern with cpap

With no information to go on, it's hard to fathom anything. What model of which machine do you use? What type of mask? Do you know your pressure settings of your machine? What were you diagnosed as having (# of events, etc)? Take meds for anything? How did you determine what you wrote about REM and ...

Re: Reading data from Oscar - Hypopnea's

Do you sleep on your back most of the time?

The 90-95% reading is about being UP to those numbers, not sitting at the high point the whole time which worries people unnecessarily.

Re: 15 days with ResMed AutoSense CPAP: Seeking Advice on Mouthbreathing

Good machines don't wake you with noise, so if yours is doing that, go back to wherever you got it and get a replacement. Unfortunately someone else did that many times but the batch was apparently bad and all of them had the noise!

Good luck.

Re: Newbie - first impressions

I doubt if a large size would help because the parts designed to fit accordingly will be too big, but overtightening can make things worse all around... there are so many masks out there to try, look for examples on Cpap.com. And download Oscar here to post results the experts will interpret for you...

Re: ResMed F20 F30 F30i help

The pillow is rather firm - more so than a ''regular' one, so does not push your mask sideways when you sleep. Btw - are you aware that back sleeping provokes more apneas? If you can avoid it (pillow in back or whatever works for you) it could help your AHI.

Re: questions about tubes

Hi, well when it is very warm (summer) it is uncomfortable to use Cpap at times and the warm air doesn't seem to promote great AHI numbers, but that's relative and most people have A/C... just another thing tho' to factor in. You're trying to cover every conceivable base before you even get going an...

Re: have tried so many masks

Anyone can have apneas without desatting... they're not necessarily diagnostic of each other and it's also a good reason to do a lab study as a lot of things can be gone into, put together, etc. that a home study or e.g. doctor's office can't.

Re: Fellow Canadian CPAP users

Well, sponsor of this forum, Cpap.com, has a great variety of stuff (tho' won't send Resmed anything out of U.S) and great service... but up here, there are e.g. Canada Cpap Supply (based in US but ships here I think without customs chge - tho' please check with them. Thank you... The day I sign up to be his 'pupil' is the day he gets to critique what I do, but until then, he can practice his overlord role somewhere else.

Since when are you the arbiter of anything here - if you disagree with something, fine, but can't you be reasonable and civilized about how you say so and not treat others like garbage?

Well, Google seems to think you're wrong - Philips Respironics is all over the place - or have they divested themselves of the name so you could insult people here?

Re: Confused about the recall

Why is it nonsense to confuse (as a newbie) two Cpap related names beginning with Res?

Re: Confused about the recall

You misunderstood my remark - I got Resmed and Respironics confused early on... the 'Res' made me think one was part of the other... just not the right one. Don't be such a tough guy!
