Re: TV Between Your Toes... Do you fall asleep watching?

For years I have been a poor sleeper and had T V on off and on most of the night. I started a new sleep program a year ago. I have blackout drapes, I've done all the things to improve my sleep - except T. V relaxes me, I put it on timer, I am usually asleep before the timer turns the T.V, off. I kee...

Re: How did YOU Resolve Your Mouth-Leaks? (poll)

Bob3000 What brand and model did you end up settling on? I'm not sure which paper tape I am using. I bought a roll of store brand from Walgreen's and one from Walmart. I opened both rolls - then forgot which was which. I use such a small amount each night, that I am still using the roll. My only exc...

Re: How did YOU Resolve Your Mouth-Leaks? (poll)

I've always had a chronically stufy nose; it didn't bother me until I started CPAP. Then I realized I was mouth breathing at night and that created a high leak rate. I tried a chin strap. it gave me choking feeling. I thought from what I read on the posts that a ff mask would stop the leaking. For s...

Re: Respironics Fullface mask fit-help!

I think there is a way to work with the Full Face mask, I have one and I liked the therapy I received from it. I felt good and alert in the mornings, but it did a number on the bridge of my nose. I tried several different ways to get it to stop - well, I had it before the new nose bridge item. I hav...

Re: How many hours should CPAP be worn per night?

Hello Paultool, Well you asked for opinions . . & you got them, they were unamimous. I'm sure your Doctor will agree too, that It is vital for your health and future years of life, that you wear your mask while you are sleeping. But as the Wolfman says, you can do it in baby steps. When I began on C...

Re: Atrial Fibrillation strikes again

Patrick I have a friend who discovered she had an alarming number of A.F's at high altitude. They had planned a trip to Peru primarily to visit Machu Picchu. They had advice on how to avoid altitude sickness, but had no clue that high altitude can trigger A.F.'s. She was ok at the jump-off place to ...

Re: Correlation between CPAP use & Corneal Abrasions?

Hi nicodan Now that I know corneal danage can come from CPAP I am going to be more aware and not dis dry eyes as nothing to be concerned about. My eyes burned and felt like each time I closed my eyes that sandpaper was running across my eyeball. They are better now - It is discouraging that our medi...

Re: What is your generation

Great music, great names - to add to those, no one could forget the truly magnificant Roy Orbison singing - especially Pretty Woman, and Mr. Dynamite, James Brown. If I get up, the weather looks dark and dreary and more of it - I can live with it or I can put on James Brown singing "I Feel Good". Af...

Re: Question for Full Face Mask users

Hi Jeff H. Like you, I had to stop wearing pillows masks. I liked them because of the lightness of the mask, but after trying 4 different styles, I developed raw spots in the inside of my nares. They were stubborn to heal and I had to stop using them. I did buy the Full Life, it was comfortable, but...

Re: Much chance Ultra Mirage would work if Quattro didn't?

HI SU, My current mask is the Quattro. It beat up my nose for about 10 days. After the first night, I put a piece of paper tape on the bridge of my nose at night. For a while I had a faint red mark, then apparently my nose became accustomed to it. Sorry it didn't work for you. I'm down to one mask t...

Re: Correlation between CPAP use & Corneal Abrasions?

I've had this problem the whole time I've been on cpap. Was in a car wreck that screwed up my right eye. Use Muro 128 5% drops and ointment to treat this. I also have tear duct plugs and wear a tranqueleyes eye mask at night. I guess I'm saying the air can be dealt with. Good luck JeffH Hi Jeff I c...

Correlation between CPAP use & Corneal Abrasions?

During the last few months, I occasionally get one of those annoying leaks that awaken you in the middle of the night. Sometimes, it takes several tries to get the leak stopped. Following one of those experiences, the next morning I am aware that my eyes are dryer than than have been. I talked to my...
