Re: How Many machines do you have?

I have two, one that actually treats my apnea and one that makes a pretty decent doorstop.

Re: Guests Can No Longer Post Images or Links

For what it is worth, I agree with you Johnny but it's not my call to make. Frankly it is no one but yours and the "majority" ought to step back and realize this isn't a democracy. If your gut tells you it is a bad idea it really shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Re: PapCAP (Pur-Sleep) and Swift LT

I use both and simply put on the papcap, attach the chin strap and then use the swift headgear to hold the mask in place. Just didn't see any easy way to adapt the swift to the papcap straps and really there's no need to as I only got the papcap to stop my jaw from dropping while asleep, not because...

Re: res med dc converter and insurance

This is just getting far, far too silly. I'm done with responding to people who hide behind silly user IDs. Wow that is real mature of you Bill. Are you no longer going to respond to all here who use "silly user IDs" or just those who refuse to drink the resmed coolaid? Very few cpap users need tha...

Re: res med dc converter and insurance

That added functionality that Bill believes is worth a 200% or so markup includes the following: 1. The ability to distinguish between a 12v and 24v dc power source. So if you are foolish enough to hook up to a pair of deep cycle batteries or plug into a vehicle with a 24v system instead of a 12v sy...

Re: res med dc converter and insurance

I attempted to treat my apnea with the vantage and it was a complete failure due to the a10 algorithm. Might as well not have even been on a cpap as the machine simply would not respond to nearly 1/2 of my apneas at a setting of 12.6min and 16max. It is for me a $1,000 doorstop and a daily reminder ...

Re: res med dc converter and insurance

Feel free to tell us all about the superior "functionality of a DC-12" that sets it apart from any other brand. Tell us how it does so much more than simply allow someone to run their resmed cpap off a dc source. Tell us all about how the other brands fall short of doing the same at a fraction of th...

Re: res med dc converter and insurance

Poppycock Bill but not entirely unexpected. All the resmed dc cord does is allow one to hook up to a 12v dc battery and run the cpap w/o the humidifier, Nothing more and nothing less. All the other brands do the exact same thing at a fraction of the cost. There's nothing special about the resmed dc ...

My insurance wouldn't and as you probably already know the resmed dc cord is ridiculously priced for what it is and compared to other brands.

Re: Sandman Auto Reports- Cable vs Card- Need advice

The sandman card reader will work with vista but you need to force the operating system to install the driver on the supplied cd rather than the generic one that vista will attempt to use.

Re: How do I fix AHI ???

The best thing I ever did with my resmed auto cpap was replace it with a sandman auto. First one had no way of changing what the manufacturer thought would work for everyone; the sandman lets me tailor the machine to my therapy. The A10 algorithm simply didn't respond to my apneas over 10cm and yes ...

Re: How APAP adjusts for apneas ?

My 1st cpap was a resmed apap set at 11 to 15cm based on a PSG titration of 12. Over nearly 5 moths of use the machine never responded to nearly 1/2 the apneas shown on the nightly downloads of my data. I've since purchased a sandman auto which is set at the same 11 to 15cm and my ave nightly AI has...

Re: cpapsupplyusa info/feedback?

At the risk of being called unscrupulous I will say that I purchased my latest cpap from cpapsupplyusa and it was in my hands in less than 36hrs with free shipping. Now granted VA is a lot closer to PA than TX but an order from cpap.com takes 4 or 5 days to arrive. Both are good companies IME and pr...

Re: Resmed & Internet retailers

The only reason resmed has an authorized internet dealer program (or had depending on who you wish to believe) is so that they can separate you from even more of your money. I started out with resmed and they nickle and dimed me on every purchase for an apap. Paid more for the cpap, the software the...
