Initial settings advice please

Hi, My new M Series Auto CPAP just arrived, and I think I need to tweak my settings a bit. I'm using a Soyala nasal mask, and because it doesn't clear CO2 out very quickly, I find the lower pressure settings a bit of a problem. If the thing isn't producing enough of a flow, I get a mild claustrophob...

Looking for quiet APAP

Hi folks, Nine months ago, I posted to ask what the quietest mask/machine combo might be. I ended up getting a Soyola - which is both comfortable and very quiet. My machine is a Resmed Spirit - circa December 2004. Lately, I've been noticing that the machine is seeming very loud. Likely it seems lou...

Re: waking up

Could there be any OTHER "external" factors that could be waking you up at that time? Sounds from the city?.....other sources? We have 4 cats - 3 of whom occasionally hop on the bed, but I'm thinking not. Also, our street is pretty quiet. I'm thinking my bedtime might be the culprit. For most of my...

I will try the above suggestions tonight.

Did you wake up with the mask or without it? Did you put the mask back on? O. When I woke up, I seem to recall the mask leaking. I tried adjusting it, but got so frustrated, I removed it and went to the bathroom, thinking I'd put it back on when I got back. But for some reason, although I never hav...

Re: waking up

My problem is some time during the night I take the mask off and have no memory of doing so. I want to wear the mask all night but for some reason I pull it off. I even pulled it off during my sleep study with it. That's what happens with me as well. I set the machine to cpap at 12, and woke up at ...

I would also take the path suggested by Den, for the reasons he mentions, and I wouldn't worry about the lack of titration. The machine is giving you a nightly equivatlent of a titration study. Frequently when autos are used for titration at home the RTs afterwards may take the auto's recommended p...

OK......that's better. Not trying to beat up on you......just trying a little "tough love" to help you out. Best wishes, Den Thanks for the "tough love", and sorry for my earlier testiness. Putting the Autoset on standard CPAP might be a good idea, as the changes in pressure (and the changes in the...

Very misleading comment. My response was not to his suggestion, but rather to his admonition that "I should have figured things out by now". I'm already frustrated that I haven't been able to figure things out by now. In any case, here are my machine particulars: Settling - off Mask - standard ( my ...

OH......Really? That's not the impression I got from reading your post back in March of THIS year......5 months ago. The tone of your reply sounds like you've had an inspector Clouseau moment. I'm flattered that you took the time to try and catch me out in a lie. My first post was in November 2004,...

waking at 4AM? I doubt you are done sleeping, most likely cause is your pressure isn't high enough to clear obstructive events. Since at about that time you are probably in REM sleep or in a near wake state you can wake quite easily. I would try increasing your pressure by 1 cm and see how it goes....

Re: Wake up around 3:00 or 4:00 AM

Hi, I've been very diligent with my CPAP compliance, CPAPopedia Keywords Contained In This Post (Click For Definition): CPAP I think your doctor made a moronic statement. 3 hours of sleep with good cpap therapy is not enough. Any sleep you get without cpap may be doing more damage than if you just ...

Wake up around 3:00 or 4:00 AM

Hi, I've been very diligent with my CPAP compliance, but I find that almost every night, I wake up quite early (well before sunrise) and fall back to sleep without my mask on. I've mentioned it to my sleep doctor three times now, but he seems to not want to address the issue. He told me that if I wa...

Hi,

I have a Spirit Autoset, and I'm going to be traveling to Greece shortly. How do I deal with the electrical current?
