Re: Mask Life Poll
I use the Swift-II and the Swift LT and the nasal pillows last about 6 months before the leaks get out of control. No problems with the head gear or the other mask parts.

Auto M series question
Does an Auto M series with A-Flex use the same algorithms to determine sleep events when it is used in CPAP mode as it does when it is in APAP mode?
When using the Auto M series in APAP mode what is the minimum difference between the low pressure setting and the high pressure setting?
Thanks

Mindy - I totally agree with you. The numbers I provided above are hypothetical for the example. My real numbers are based on about 1 month of data with the machine operating as a CPAP with a setting of 8 and 9 with cflex and as an APAP with a range of 7-10 (aflex) and 8-12 (cflex). So far I feel th...

Apnea (OA) vs Hypopnea
Is there any advantage in one of the following AHI scenarios? At 7cm H2O AHI =6 – OA = 1, H = 5 At 9cm H2O AHI = 6 – OA = 5, H =1 The AHI numbers are the same but the components are different. I would rather have a partial reduction of breathing than no breathing at all so I favor the first scenario...

Good and bad nights sleep
Since I started my treatment on 1/4/08 my nights have been a roller coaster of results Some nights (10%) are good and I wakeup feeling refreshed and 18 years old again! More (50%) nights are okay and I feel okay….not great but not bad The remaining I feel like varying degrees of crap. There does not...

Thank you all for the great feedback. I had my data card read with the Encore software and as it turns out, most all the leak numbers happened around the same time, between 3am and 5am and that is also where most of my AH events occurred. The earlier hours in the night were for the most part clean. ...

Gail – Good advice….I probably need more sleep but it is hard to do during the week. SleepGuy – Actually I already feel natural breathing with the resistance of the air pressure. It is funny, I woke up one night freaking out thinking the CPAP machine had quit working because I could not feel it. I p...
