Cruise ships

I'm going on the Celebrity Century in February. Any hints on dealing with CPAP either on airlines there or the cruise ship itself?

I'm planning on taking it carry on.

After about 7 hours I am feeling better, but I'm comparing that to my old machine with out heated humidifer.

What is the difference between this loaner and the new machine? I don't really understand.

Did I luck out?

Haven't been here for a while, things haven't been going well, but haven't been going bad either. But here's what is going on. My PB Goodnight 420S died on Friday. I called my DME this morning, and told them that while I didn't get it from them, I'd rather deal with them. They called PB who told the...

Re: Anyone Else Referred to Sleep Study By Psychiatrist

I should have been ... I was mistreated for depression and when treatment didn't work was mistreated for bipolar illness. It wasn't until several physicians suggested a sleep study that an HMO would approve it. As a result, I really think ALL physical causes should be ruled out before someone is tre...

I flew Dallas to Nice and back this spring. On the way there, I was too stressed to sleep. Has having work issues, the plane broke and we sat on the tarmack for about 3 hours, etc.... On the way back, I was so strung out from not sleeping I didn't care. I connected my CPAP to the battery, slapped th...

Welcome to the club! I'm a teacher myself and have been on CPAP for about 10 years. Too bad they didn't diagnose and prescribe the same night. I have had two sleep studies now, and they did it that way both times, on the initial and on the recheck about 7 years later. (We knew I had sleep apnea the ...

[quote="Janelle"]Kathleen, if it has been a year or more since your last sleep study/titration it may simply be a matter of needing higher (or lower) pressure if you are on something besides an APAP. It could also be you might need supplemental oxygen in addition to the CPAP at night. ______________...

I had a full recovery for a while, but keep having relapses, and have actually gotten worse. So far none of the medical community has been able to give me an answer -- I know I am fighting the effects of stress, alternate between GERD, diabetes, and sleep problems. The good news, is that I am compli...

I'm a teacher -- so I get the next 8-10 weeks off and yes, I focus on getting better. In fact, I also set aside at least one weekend a month during the school year, to concentrate on sleeping.

Unfortunately, the stress often makes the effort futile. And it's NOT the kids.

Traveling probems update

Finally saw my sleep doctor as Monday, and because I had a fever and because I'd had to cancel the trip to Monte Carlo, he's taking my sleep problems seriously. He ordered the H2O heated humidifer, and it is great. Even off, it produces moister air than any humidifier I've used before, and on even b...

Yeah, but it was Channel 4 in Dallas -- sensationalism news . But since it is sleep awareness week, every station is "required" to do some kind of story on sleep. While we're talking about Dallas -- I just "found" a fabulous DME . Hope Home Medical. They do take BCBS. My doctor ordered replacement s...
