Re: New AirMini - Problems

I have tried the AirMini for 3 nights so far, and have used ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset for 3 years. I've decided to keep the AirMini (was offered a 30 day trial). Here are my impressions, in case they are helpful to others: --> HumidX Plus was insufficient humidity for me; after first night my nose...

Re: New AirMini - Problems

I too have problems using the Resmed Airmini. Whether I use humidex or not, I wake up with runny nose, sneezing a lot and a very dry throat. What will fix this problem? After almost 2 years with the AirMini, in all sorts of climates, I've found the following works best: 'Juicing' the Humid-x with a...

Re: Best APAP for camping/ backpacking

Pricy, but the Airmini, Medistrom battery, and a good solar setup would be a good, and reasonably light, combo. Based on my air travel experiences, you can squeeze a couple nights out of a full charge on the Medistrom battery.

Re: New AirMini - Problems

Thanks. Where do you get your cartridges? And, if I only use them for a short period while travelling, how does one use them later? Freezing them, maybe? I usually get mine in 6-packs from CPAP.com, and just put a new one in every month, whether I travel 4 weeks out of the month or 1. I figure $5/m...

Re: New AirMini - Problems

I have just bought the AirMini and tried it for two nights without the HumidX. Does the AirMini have any humidity when using it without the HumidX? I woke up during these two nights with a desert-dry mouth that I could barely open. I am using my N20 mask with it. Don't know if the AirMini is comple...

Depending on how much distilled water you use, the humid-x cost is only about 2x that of distilled water.
You don't need to use distilled water.
My time's more valuable than $0.79/gallon :)

Re: AirMini daily use: How long will it last?

That's just speculation, and definitely not common-sense. The bulk of the AirMini is the blower, and in fact it is not much smaller than the blowers in the later generations of Resmed normal size devices. The real miniaturisation has been in the electronics package. The elimination of a built-in co...

Re: AirMini daily use: How long will it last?

I travel extensively and have been using an Airmini for about a year and a quarter now. I also have a full-size machine at home. While the 'mini's been rock-solid, common sense indicates it won't last as long as a full-size machine, just due to the sheer size of all of the moving parts, since they'r...

Re: Using CPAP on board airline - battery

Be careful when using any xPAP that requires 24v of power with a 12v battery and DC/DC converter. I've found that the battery can drop below the minimum voltage level the converter expects, when more than 50% of the battery capacity remains, causing it to shut down. I experienced this with the Freed...

Re: How long do P10 pillows lasts for you?

I started with the P10 very early after its release, and pillows used to last several months. At some point, it seems like Resmed changed the material the pillows are made out of, and now I get about a month before leaks start to form and they need to be replaced. I can see a significant difference ...

Re: Old Respironics M Series BiPap -- Any use?

I'm well-fixed for backups--I have a primary machine, a travel machine, and a 3rd machine for backup, in case either one of the first two fail. This one's the last one of herd, free to anyone that wants it and pays shipping.

Anyone? I hate to just drop it in the trash or to an electronics recycler if anyone can use it for parts.

Old Respironics M Series BiPap -- Any use?

After getting my shiny new AirCurve a few weeks ago, I've been culling down the plethora of xPAP machines I've accumulated over the past 10 years of therapy. The last man standing is my first, a Respironics M Series BiPap. It still works, but has HUGE hours on it, almost 13k. Is there any place I ca...
