Re: Swift II and nasal mask/head gear opinions requested

I love my Swift 2. I've been attaching my Swift hose to the top buckle for over a year. This stabilizes the hose has helps prevent leaks as well as allowing me to sleep on both sides. Doing this allows the routing of my main hose at the top of my head and I can also wear my glasses if I want to. Pic...

Re: DME in Fort Worth

Follow-up on Accurate in Fort Worth. I'm still with them after about 20 months and what I said back in February still stands. After all the horror stories I feel somewhat luck with the few problems I've had. One area of improvement is the speed which I now get supplies. If I call in the morning, I n...

FSA pays for Battery!

Just an update to let everyone know my FSA did reimburse me for my CPAP backup battery. Was no issue at all. Didn't need prescription.

Thanks again for all the comments and suggestions, this forum is great!

MandoJohnny, Maybe you don't need to change from your Swift. I sleep on both sides with my Swift. By attaching the hose to the top strap buckle you can get the hose such that you can sleep on both sides. Also you could change your head pillow like one from Target or the Papillow may help. Routing th...

Craig, Accurate in Fort Worth is my DME (insurance chosen). Accurate is neither great nor horrible as many on this forum have experienced. Better than most that have been written about. Good things: - No problem getting the machine of choice even though it was different from what my Dr had on the pr...

I had two studies. On my first my pre sleep O2 baseline was 92% and during sleep my O2 destat was 59% (AHI was 80), scarey. On my second which was a titration, my baseline was 95% and my destat was 90%. A big difference and I can really tell, I feel so much better. So I believe XPAP makes a big diff...

For no particular reason, I started wearing my chin strap over my mask. A while back I tried the ol' strap first. Was okay, but I found that the strap helped stablize my Swift mask when I sleep on my side. So now it is definitely strap on top of mask. This just works best for me. Sleep Well, ---gary

I put on my mask, crawled into bed, just like every night, reach over and turned on my machine only to realize I hadn't connected the hose to the mask. DUB!!! Works great with the hose connected. The really sad part is I did this twice in the same week. And yes, I was sobor...

Try turning C-Flex (or A-Flex) off, or at least change the setting. This might help. With C-Flex on, the blower has to power up and down with your breathing and some machines do make a winning sound as they come back to pressure. Mine does this but I've gotten so used to it I don't notice it unless ...

Sorry I haven't responded sooner, was off line for awhile. I do use my Auto in the Auto mode, set at 8 to 12, with C-Flex set at 2. I average 7 hours a night on the machine, weekends are rarely more than 8 hours. Interestingly enough, my firmware is version 2.14.

Cheers!

I've been monitoring my data since last March (couple of weeks after I started XPAP). In that time I have lost data once (one night only). My normal routine is to download data every Saturday. I've earsed the data on my card only once since I started, that was last May and all data has been recorded...

Thanks for the feedback! I guess I'll do it. The administrator of my FSA Med Account can be a real pain. Getting a prescription is a great suggestion, I just don't think I can get one before I need to order.

Thanks again,

CPAPTALK helped me have the right "atitude" when I started XPAP. I learned what was ahead of me, understood the ups and downs, what to expect and many ways to resolve the many pitfalls of life as a hosehead. I learned to laugh at myself, to not be discouraged and fight through the low times. All sai...

All great questions and answers. And along this thread's line what about state sales tax. I live in the same state as their wharehouse, thus maybe subject to state sales tax. Whereas if I were to buy from another vendor I could save another 8.5 %. On big ticket items this can be substantual. Any exp...
