Re: Yet Another Attempt

I don't understand full columns that are appearing in both the flow and the mask pressure, at 04:33 or so. They appeared in other charts as well.

I've never seen anything like it.

Re: Need Thin Mouth Tape

I actually find the adhesive on 3M micropore paper too strong. If I don't drool, I need to use baby oil in order to remove the tape. Did it for years. I've switched to using 3M Micropore Skin Friendly Silicone Medical Tape - not sure I would describe it as thin, and yes, drooling may loosen it so I ...

Part 2 - Recommendations: First step: At this point, you should try to get used to breathing with the CPAP when you're awake and relaxed - even seated - and ignore all the charts produced during that "training period" since wake breathing is not something the machine identifies. ... Re: Yet Another Attempt

OK, thank you. Another problem on the horizon then. Would Obstructive lead to Central? Until you have reports of many open airway apneas happening while you're asleep, you can safely ignore the so-called central apneas. Did you have central apneas mentioned in your sleep reports? Are you receiving ...

Re: Yet Another Attempt

So I stopped breathing. Isn't the cpap supposed to stop things like this? CPAP is supposed to blow air into your airway is a way that prevents your airway from collapsing when you're asleep. When the CPAP is set up properly, your sleep breathing will be regular and your airway will rarely collapse....

Re: Need Thin Mouth Tape

Why not try the replacement tape now, instead of when you've run out of your favorite?

Re: Wake up gasping while using CPAP

You're snoring almost all night through. On a properly set up CPAP you don't snore. Two things stand out in tha flow chart: Your machine sticks to the highest pressure - and it can't stop your snoring. That means the high isn't high enough Your machine tries to go lower every now and then, and can't...

Re: Yet Another Attempt

Correct. For the other night. I will be testing it again to see if anything more comes up in the future when I use the machine. well I don't understand that at all. I'll leave it to someone smarter than me to explain why that is. I only know that I get full charts, as I posted, no matter how short ...

Re: Yet Another Attempt

daBee, thanks for posting what you have available from Oscar. Unfortunately all it is showing are your summary data. I'm not sure why that is, but do make sure you have the SD card well-seated in the slot when you return it to the machine. And leave it there all night long. Resmed machines only rec...

Re: Yet Another Attempt

I'm not posting my stats. Bye. Read what I posted. she did. more to the graphs than just events. True. Just in case there's a misunderstanding, I'll add that "stats" and "graphs" are not the same. It's the graphs we need to see in order to have any chance of understanding what's going on.

Re: Central Apnia or Physiological

Did you ever ask the doctor what he meant by "physiological"? The machines will record breathing cessations no matter whether you're asleep or awake. You could be changing position in bed, taking a big breath, and then waiting till enough CO2 has accumulated in you blood to trigger the next breath. ...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

You've got ramp set up on 6 - and there's a lot of snoring going on when you're there. It's too low for you. Look a the zigzag pattern of the flow: your apneas, flow limitation and snores pop up once the pressure has dropped. In other words, the machine doesn't realize that the minimal pressure is t...
