Re: Aerophagia waking me up every day
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I am definitely going to try your method tonight. My machine moves in 0.5 increments, so I'll take it down to 9 instead of 9.5 and see what happens. I'll report back in a couple days. Thanks again. pls DO come back. I'm always curious to see if what w...

Re: Resmed P10 masks venting sucks
The P10 venting system gives me blessed silence. If the price of that is cleaning it every now and then with a soft bristled brush, I pay it gladly. Whether or not it occludes under less than ideal conditions depends on those conditions. That includes tha climate you live in, the amounts of pollutio...

Re: Newbie, hoping for help with therapy (OSCAR data)
Hello, I'm now about 3 weeks in to CPAP therapy, and still am not really sleeping through the night (probably sleeping worse than prior to therapy0. I feel I'm able to get to sleep just fine with the mask, but am still waking up frequently. I'll usually wake up feeling congested and get tired of tr...

Re: Increased leak rates plus zero AHI=Exhausted
Update: I had only been wiping my face mask down, except of my water tank was not doing a full cleaning (3 week period). I soaked my hose and headgear in slightly warm water with dish soap and cleaned everything. Headgear stayed in place last night much better, leak rate was only 10.4, 95% 30 and A...

Re: Thoughts on Maxillomandibular advancement surgery (MMA)?
Maybe this forum is not the best source for the information you want. You would have to assume that people whose MMA surgery succeeded came back to report about it, at least in the same number as those whose surgery failed. When the doctors say the results "vary widely" there must be some research a...

Re: Papmd cleaning sheets
These are not wipes. You dissolve a sheet in warm water and soak your CPAP tube, mask, etc. for 5 minutes to sanitize everything. I want to stress that you don't need to sanitize anything on or around a CPAP machine. the only thing that goes through the machine is the very same air you breathe each...

Re: OSCAR Data Review
Are you aware that anxiety disorder can be the result of untreated sleep apnea? Think about it: every night that you were sleeping without cpap, you were getting partially (or fully) choked, and your brain was jumping info full emergency panic mode, waking you up to make you breathe better. Those wa...

Re: Six months and still struggling
Also, I am considering taping with the full-face mask. Is that a good idea? NO NO NO. BAD idea. Given your anatomical restrictions, you need to breathe through you mouth if your nose becomes obstructed. Taping will just make your struggle from more oxygen and wake you. I am not a "mouth breather" b...

do you think this can be fixable with ENT No. Maybe? [...] ENT consult might be helpful. He (OK I'm sure he's a he) may be intolerant of a nasal interface which he'll undoubtedly start out with. My point about the ENT only concerned the higher AHi during REM. Can problematic nose breathing manifest...

For those struggling with the Bleep Eclipse - Solutions!
Some of us mentioned the the Bleep Eclipse pinches their nose. Others noticed that some versions of it are noisy. Others had trouble making the adhesive stick And some found it heavy on their upper lip. The Lanky Lefty 27 has uploaded a video that really solved all of the above for me . Make your Pe...

Excellent explantions of how the Prisma 20A works
Nick of SleepHQ has a great explanation of the Prisma's APAP algorithms. Nick has his own brand of humor - which not everyone might like. But the information itself is presented very clearly. He also notes some of the implications for setting the machine up. https://youtu.be/Fzx2-iJfxA4 And if you p...
